Lightroom Quick Tips - Episode 115: Quick & Easy Zoom

Sharing buttons:

hey guys this is Anthony more candy from

Anthony more gaiety calm this is episode

115 of Lightroom quick tips in this

episode I'm going to show you a quick

and easy way you could zoom in on an

image with a tool open now you probably

know that if you don't have a tool open

all you need to do is click on an image

and you could zoom in you get inspect it

for noise or sharpness or whatever and

then when you want to zoom back out just

click on the image again and you'll zoom

back out now this becomes slightly more

problematic if you have a tool open any

tool in my case let's say we have the

brush tool open I'm applying some brush

strokes and I find I need to zoom in

well I simply can't just click on the

image because if I click on the image

I'm applying a brush stroke and I won't

zoom in well you can of course just

close the brush tool down then zoom in

and reopen the brush tool do whatever

you need to do close the brush tool zoom

back out by clicking on the image now to

me that's a little clumsy and it just

doesn't flow as well now another thing

you could do which is a little easier

you have the brush tool open or any tool

and your doing whatever you're doing and

you find you need to zoom in you could

go over to the left panel now I keep the

left panel closed because I like the

increase workspace so in my case I'd

have to hover over here so the left

panel opens then go up to the top and

click one-to-one let's say I could zoom

in do whatever I need to do go back over

here and hover select panel opens again

then click fit now I admit that's easy

enough to do but to me it's still a

little clumsy I like doing the following

if I'm using a tool in my case or in

this demonstration the brush tool and

I'm applying some brush strokes and I

find I need to zoom in all I need to do

is hold the spacebar in then click on

the image with that spacebar held in

you'll zoom in then I could let's say

apply a brushstroke to

say this Birdseye to enhance the eye

then I want to zoom back out hold that

spacebar in click on the image again

I'll zoom back out to me this is much

more natural quicker and it flows a

little better so I have the tool open

I'm doing some things and I want to zoom

in let's say over here hold the spacebar

in click on the image I zoomed in do

whatever I need to do over here if I

want to look at the image in various

parts while it's zoomed in I'll hold the

spacebar in and I then could drag the

image around and do whatever I need to

do let's say over here then hold that

spacebar and again and zoom back out

then look at it like this and maybe I

see something over here I want to fix

I'll hold that spacebar in I could click

to zoom in again do whatever I need to

do down here then hold that spacebar in

and zoom back out to me that's much more

natural and works a lot better in my

workflow so remember that when you want

to zoom in when you have any of these

tools open

just hold that spacebar in and click on

the image and you could zoom in then

hold that space bar and click on the

image to zoom out that's it for episode
