point-of-sale machine for the first time

both physical setup and some simple

initial programming is required this

video is designed to guide you through

these processes first it's important to

load your memory protection batteries to

ensure the devices memory is retained

even when disconnected from the power

for this you will need to purchase two

quality double-a sized alkaline

batteries as they are not supplied with

your machine to install the batteries

ensure your SE g1 is not connected to

mains power remove the printer cover

then remove the journal k-cups port open

the battery compartment cover

insert batteries taking care to ensure

correct polarity and replace the battery

compartment cover

while the printer cover is off we can

load the thermal paper roll by first

lifting the printer platen up and

placing the paper roll into the printer

ensuring the paper is facing you and

feeding from the front of the roll

close the platen arm firmly until you

hear a click then replace the journal

take-up spool and printer cover

insert the managers key which will allow

you to access the PGM or program mode

position please leave this in the off

position for now plug the power cord

into the AC outlet and switch it on an

instructional message will print

guiding you to set the language date and

time as the instructions indicate to

select English press 0 followed by the

cash button

to set the date simply key the date in

Dade a month month year year format to

set the time key the time in 24 hour

format for example 9:00 a.m.

should be entered as 0 9 0 0 and 2:15

p.m. should be entered as 14 15 as the

mode switch is currently in the off

position the display should turn off on

completion of this step the Casio SVG 1

printer can be set to print either

receipts or a running Journal of

transactions to set these options turn

your managers key to the PGM or program

position to set the printer for printing

receipts enter the following sequence 1

subtotal 1 charge

to set the print up for journal printing

enter one subtotal zero then charge when

you're required option has been set a

confirmation message will be printed

indicating your selection note that if

you wish to use journal printing you

should open the printer cover

extend the paper and then feed it around

and through the center of the journal

take-up spool

ensure the rigid side of the journal

k-cups pool is facing inwards towards

the s e-g one then test the take-up

spool works by pressing the feed key

once satisfied it is taking up the slack

you may replace the printer cover

finally for Australian businesses only

it is recommended that you activate the

Australian standard setting to ensure

your Casio s e-g one uses the correct

tax rates rounding and receipt print

formats to do this turn your managers

key to the Z position and enter the

following code

0 1 0 1 2 0 0 1 followed by the subtotal

button and the cash button with the

Australia's standards activated you can

now nominate the departments you wish to

attract tax to have a department attract

tax ensure the key is set to the PGM or

program position select one then

subtotal then tax PGM press the RA

button and then press each department to

which you wish to have X prior finally

press the subtotal button to confirm

your selection as you make your

selections our list of departments will

be printed with an asterisk next to

their names this asterisk is the S eg

once symbol for tax and appears wherever

tax is applied to disable tax applied to

a department again ensure the key is set

to the PGM or program position select

one then subtotal then tax PGM

press the chk or check button then press

each department to which you do not wish

to attract tax finally press the

subtotal button to confirm your

selection congratulations your new Casio

se g1 is set up and ready for use to
