Need up to 30 seconds to load.
hey guys it's gonzil we're going to do a
turtle carer video today there's little
Ralphie and there's little Ernie one
thing I'd highly suggest is your turtles
get a lot of action in the aquarium and
it keeps them strong and healthy well
bring them out in your yard if you get a
chance let them walk your own you know
for I don't know 15 20 minutes a couple
times a week you know they find little
bugs in your grass and stuff but anyways
today's video is going to be about
clipping their toenails their little
claws usually in the wild they don't
need them trimmed because they're
crawling up on rocks and blogs and stuff
and it keeps them trim down but being in
an aquarium they can't do that so we're
going to trim them less if I you don't
feel comfortable doing it you can bring
them to a vet yourself and they will
charge you an opposite which is 65 to
100 dollars then they're going to charge
you another quarter hour so it could be
a hundred dollars just to trim their
nails but if you know how to do it which
I do I'm going to show you to save
yourself some money like I said if you
don't feel comfortable just just bring
them in to the vet because they do need
their nails to be trimmed I'll show you
how long theirs are I purposely let them
get this long just so I could trim them
to make a video out of it I'll show you
this in a minute fellas peace alright
guys here I got Ralphie boy I could tell
the difference between my two Turtles
they're our two turtles because Ernie's
got a little indentation on the show
where he got shell rot before and we
fixed that and now I'm going to show you
guys how to properly trim their nails as
you can see just hold them between your
your hand they'll sit there nice and
comfortable they might try and pull away
a little bit we use your forefinger and
your middle finger to hold their foot
they're pond they're their foot whatever
you want to call it and then I'd suggest
a big pair of a dollar store things that
cost you $2.99
and you see how long as nails are I mean
these are a lot longer than they should
be but this was for a purpose and I'm
going to show you how easy it is don't
go all the way down to their skin you
know he ain't happy about it but he's
going to be happy in the end just
trimmed on to the white to right where
the white and the black meet each other
they're that easy that's how quick and
easy it is then I'll grab his other his
left paw here and hold it don't let him
pull away from you you don't want to
hurt him you're not hurting to measure
holding that oh okay
so he's biting me he liking it but in
the end I got to trim this one a little
bit more the bites don't hurt at all
trust me these are tiny tiny turtles but
in the end he's going to feel good then
what I'm done will let him walk around a
little bit more he only got a trim on
one time of year they don't bleed like I
said don't trim them all the way down to
their skin because you probably really
hurt him then but I'm going to finish
this guy up that's how quick it was in
both of his front paws are done the
nails if you want to look at him now
he'll give you a shot and they're nice
and short compared to what they were
turtle care you really got to take good
care of your turtle as you love them
they'll love you back and I said he
might have been a little upset and
nipping my front finger but nothing
happened give you a little shot if
nobody seen I got bit by a muskie
earlier this year I ended up with 18
stitches
I can go back and check out one of my
previous videos and you'll see a unless
you don't like what if you don't like
blood don't watch it but there's a lot
of blood in stitches I show you the fish
I show you the bite all the blood and
and everything so if you get girl stole
my blood don't watch it but anyways this
is a turtle care video so back to this
I'm going to shut the camera off now and
we'll get back to you here and uh let me
get one more shot honey where did I
he's right here oh my god that we lost
him
she didn't shut it off did you okay so
here's the little indentation on a
unroll whew boy show where he had turtle
rot and we used iodine you just got to
clean it up real good and iodine it and
and it took care of the infection and
everything you don't do that your
turtles going to die
his whole show would have deteriorated
and rotted away and it would have killed
them many ways you can see a Ernie boy
here on the right my right is a little
bit bigger than Ralphie on the left but
through the same age so until later
piece all people
turtle care
you
