what's up guys in this short tutorial
i will show you how to trim cut and
combine video clips using after effects
this should be quite an easy tutorial
everything you need
will be listed in the description below
after adding a clip to your timeline
move the current time indicator to where
you wish to cut your clip
for more precise movement use the page
up
and page down keys on your keyboard to
move it
one frame at a time you can also zoom in
and out of your timeline to make sure
that you're finding the right spot
next navigate to edit split layer
or use the shortcut ctrl shift d
this will make sure that your video or
photo is split leaving you
with two different layers in order to
trim your video clip
move the current time indicator to where
you wish your video to start
move your mouse cursor to the clip's
edge and drag the double arrow
to your time indicator while holding
shift
you should see that your cursor will
snap to where you left the current time
indicator
you can hold and drag your newly trimmed
video clip on your timeline
and hold shift while doing so in order
to snap it to the start of your
composition
or to your time indicator
if you wish to combine two or more clips
then make sure to drag and hold your
mouse cursor over the clips
music and photos you wish to combine and
try click your selection
here click on pre-compose
name your new composition and select to
move all attributes into the new
composition
your timeline will now look like it's
merged together into one layer
but when double clicking the new
combined composition then you'll be able
to make your changes to each layer as
usual i hope this helped you out
