Need up to 30 seconds to load.
Oh Scott here from hobbies
today we're going to talk about a
different way to cut out lexan body the
way I usually do it is with a nice
little sharp probably not put a little
bit of tape around on the edge so that I
can get better control with it what I
generally do is you need to use a
Sharpie pen and you can actually draw on
the actual lines where you want to go
depending on the lighting condition it's
pretty bright in here so I don't need to
do that what I do is with a knife is
very lightly just scour around the
actual like wheel options just like so
and then indium once you've gone around
like the whole body you then use your
actual curved scissors you cut up to
where you've scared to and you can
actually break the plastic away and it
actually gives you a an absolutely
perfect perfect cut so it's a bit of a
process doing this you've got to be
careful you don't slip or cut yourself
so you're got to have a steady hand so
you can see I'm just following the
guidelines sometimes you can slip and
you can actually clean it up just with
the scissors it's always putting a
little finger just on the body too just
like a bit of a guide so that can help
control where you're going and you're
just going to keep just tune in the body
and you could be super careful with
these lightweight bodies that you
actually don't cut through the actual
very lightly scare like I'm doing so you
can actually just see they're like here
there's a little scare line and then
just cut over the top of that one you
cut through basically you just follow
all the lines again just try and hold
that body so it doesn't slip on you can
get a bit of a sore finger doing this
but that's the fun of it it does give
you a beautiful clean crisp edges
instead of cutting with scissors around
the wheel arches and that you'll get
beautiful perfect lines if you don't
sleep at halfway point you can always
clean up if you do miss the actual mould
line you can actually just clean up the
scissors if you do need special these
side panels try and sort of pop your
hand underneath just said that the body
doesn't flex and move sort of slide the
body with you as well of course they're
a little bit but that's alright we'll
get that back and see how the body is
trying to fold in half on me cutting
wheel arches it with just a pair of
scissors and it's all wonky and all over
the show you can see how thin that body
is the actual knife just went straight
through it or I'm putting not much
pressure on there cutting out there the
bitty design in 410 1 and then this is
always the most fun carbons around these
in those kinds it's good you can get
very tricky again I sort of Tron
keep the finger out of the way just in
case that knife pops through and you're
in this corner on the home straight
that's that's all that scared then with
you carry scissors you then basically
cut up to where you've just done the
scare so let's say on the side here what
you're gonna do is just slightly trim up
to where we've done that scare and I can
actually show you with this bit here
actually just then Bend where you scare
on the plastic or break off absolutely
clean
nothing here Oh something you can say
you get an absolute perfect clean edge
and instead of going along with the
scissors and walking along that's the
way to do it and then on the wheel
arches always just so they're gonna do
multiple little ones here so once you've
done that again you just bend and snap
why so easy so you can use them some of
the wheel arch templates that are around
[Music]
so you can see how quick and easy it
just pops off easier that it's always
been one of my friends Gary like in
shape it had to do this back in now in
Bendigo so you can have a big section
like that oh snap let me to start
getting into the little tighter corners
you might want to just cut sort of
multiple just little ones just use these
corners quick and easy it just breaks
away so when you get nice big long
sections like that again you can even
just cut straight up just that whole big
section clean it off then you just sort
of gonna then do some little finer cuts
to get around those curb sections here
on the rear bumper again you can see a
quick it comes away there any friend of
you that's who would challenge do that
sandhya veggie Oana I tease the master
with the drum wheel seed he probably
just does whole body so that Mia dies I
saw Chris Mitchell doing some funky
stuff like that the Dremel and the drum
wheel on his body posted a SC that was
quite entertaining but he got the job
done so that seems so easy when you do
oh look anyone can master it I'll try
maybe I should challenger this one very
much
so nice and challenge accepted the buddy
each who can get the fastest but you
need to watch the tutorial first
okay so we've both three watched the
tutorial and then we do okay this body's
gonna be neat it needs a new body after
being smacking to a few times there is
as quick as that still gonna clean these
little fellas up but it's a smooth clean
ages crisp on fire
a quick little pretty impressive that
actually yes oh yeah that's how to
quickly chop a body yeah you've got a
rice cracker whatever got wonky hands
we're using your sins of course you
still need a man it on your car and then
make sure that the wheel arch is not
going to catch on your wheels on the
back back wheel arches front wheel
arches yeah I hope that gives people a
good quick way of shopping air bodies
that's the way I've been doing it
yeah Thank You Josh
