Need up to 30 seconds to load.
all right today we're going to be
talking about how to cut downspouts
here's a downspout right here with a
jagged edge so first thing we're going
to do is put some gloves on
you could get cut resistance pairs of go
up just like that
used for flying fish and other things
alright if we want to clean this edge up
what we can do first is we can put I'll
do it in sharpie just so you can see it
but normally you do a pencil we're going
to use a square just to make sure it
cuts nice and straight now we're going
to use the right and left hand side in
order to cut the downspout out so the
red-handed tin snips has the bottom part
on the left hand side the green handle
tin snips has the bottom section on the
right so in this case we want to use the
red handle tin snips the red hand ten
steps will cut towards the left green
hand handled tongue ten steps will cut
towards the right so what we're going to
do is we're going to come in just like
this and we're going to clean that edge
I'll move this gutter so you can see it
move butter
we're going to be making that black line
disappear just like that so that makes a
nice clean edge all right now I'm going
to show you how to cut a section out so
say on here we want to cut an 8 inch
piece out which obviously would be a lot
longer normal but if we just go ahead
and measure at 8 inches long all right
we'll set the tape measure down and
we'll mark it at 8 inches just like that
is we will go ahead and take our mark
just like this all the way around give a
little dent here so I'm going to flip
the square over there we go now cut this
out you're asking how you make a bowl
how do you cut that out with tin snips
so here's the answer you can either take
utility knife that has a fixed blade or
one that has a retractable all right
what you're going to do is you're going
to set your utility knife behind the
line okay so if this is the good piece
rate from here to here and we're going
to go ahead and cut right here I'm just
going to rock these Cody knife just like
that then what we're going to do is
we're going to with the distance we're
going to make a circle
and then we're going to come right on
that line just like this so now we can
take our green Hamilton steps and you
can come right along the line all right
and then you take the red handle ten
steps when you follow up just like that
so now you're bending this piece up you
can bend the barbs down to make sure
that they don't catch it come like this
with the red hand and like this with the
green hand just like that one at a time
the same thing applies to heating
cleaning duct work - I just go off you
guys the same thing with heating horn
metal duct work if it's all in a
rectangle like this alright so there's
our finish product we can put our
downspout down into our gutter if it
doesn't quite fit what you can do is you
can you can use the five blade crumples
got five bleeds the to go on the inside
and the five going the outside and what
that will do for you is that will
actually crimp that section down in
order to minimize the area which it
needs to go into the other down stuff
just like that
all right just like that and then you
would set it so the rain comes down on
the inside of the gutter just like this
that's it
