a question that often comes up as when
should I prune my grasses and how should
I prune them ornamental grasses have
become such a firm favourite with
gardeners whether you've got a garden
this big or a garden that big so when do
we prune them and how the golden rule is
as follows you will prune your grasses
once they have finished flowering during
the winter months they will be flowering
at the end of winter that's when you
will then prune them and it also makes
sense because once they finished
flowering they're generally going to
look a bit scraggly and need a bit of a
revamp as a rule when you're pruning
your grasses you want to remove 2/3 of
the foliage and leave 1/3 behind having
a look at this guy
2/3 would be around about there and a
sharp pair of secateurs as what I need
and away our prune now was that
difficult removing 2/3 we've got it nice
and even here a little bit's left on the
edge don't stress out about that too
much
and all you need to do now is give it a
good watering if you can put a nice
layer of compost around the base and
away you go if you enjoyed this and
learn something new like it share it
