hi everyone mozilla here and the little
helper so just a quick tip for you guys
today on why you should cut back your
chives this way it'll keep reducing for
you the green leaves instead of going to
bowl and flower and stop reproducing
it's just a great way to continually
harvest your tribes throughout the
season and you can do this for up to
three to four times during the growing
season so here it is guys a quick video
like that I did this morning so always
better to harvest in the morning or
early evening after the sunset so that
way it's not so hot and your fresh
produce doesn't welt so anyways I hope
that guys finally find this tip helpful
and think it's so much for joining us
have a wonderful day and happy gardening
so as you can see our chives are
flowering already and we can harvest
these greens as well as the flowers put
them in our salads soups or even whipped
butters parsley the blossoms are so
pretty and yummy so what we're going to
be doing is cutting this back an inch
above the ground and when you do that it
will stimulate the plants to produce
more greens for you rather than
flowering again so that way you get more
greens throughout the season and you can
do this up to three four times per
season just depending where you live if
it gets too warm then obviously a lot of
plants tend to bold or flower but make
sure you cut it back right away
right when they're flowering or before
they even flower and in about two weeks
they'll grow about another foot or so to
go ahead and hold a bunch at a time and
we're going to cut right here about an
inch above the ground I know this looks
drastic guys but this will work okay
you'll get more garlic chives

look at that growth after 24 hours have
one inch to one inch grow
[Music]
14 days later some of the leaflets are
about 12 to 14 inches tall they'll get
taller if you let it grow some more you
can harvest again you can repeat the
process about two to three more times
