if any of your home improvement projects
require you to cut an interior door you
need to listen to Joe on this one well
in this case Danny we're cutting an
interior closet door which is a hollow
core door which means that the interior
the door is hollow and it has it has a
wooden frame that runs around the
perimeter now what the problem that
caused is if you need to cut more than
an inch or so you might cut into the
void so in this case we're only cutting
five eighths of an inch so it's not a
problem anymore you'd want to take a
little off the top and the bottom of the
door to avoid cutting into that void
okay now another problem is with these
doors they splinter really easily
because they have a veneer face on each
surface so to prevent it from from
splintering as I cut it I first use a
razor knife to score the cut line
cutting through just the veneer and now
we're going to clamp this straight edge
in place and make the cut in favor Danny
and just line up that end on the pencil
mark clamp that there we go I'll just
make the cut

after that all you need to do is take
sandpaper sand it off a bit and don't
forget to polyurethane or paint the
bottom of the door
