How to Know When Chicken Is Done

we all love a home-cooked roasted

chicken I just took this one out of the

oven because it was golden brown and I

didn't want it to dry out I'm going to

check the temperature with a meat

thermometer if you don't have a meat

thermometer you can wiggle the leg to

see if the joint is loose this one's

reading 140 so it needs to go back in

the oven and I'll just double check to

see if the juices are running through

which they're not this bird needs to go

back in the oven I just took the chicken

out of the oven it's been cooking for an

additional 10 minutes I'm going to check

the temperature again it's reading 165

which is the perfect temperature as I

said earlier if you do not have a meat

thermometer you can wiggle the leg to

see if it moves freely or you can make a

small cut between the leg and the thigh

to see if the juices run clear this bird

is done it's ready to carve and serve
