hey there my friend welcome back in
today's special video we're gonna cover
a topic of what do you do about loose
skin especially if you're one of our
guys here at the fit Follette project
you've lost over a hundred pounds we
have so many of you guys now and you
find in the process of losing the weight
and getting healthier as amazing as that
process was you have some loose skin
because you know skin is an organ and
when we will we gain a lot of weight
that skin stretches right and so when we
lose that weight we still have this
stretched out skin particularly if we
lose the weight very fast so there are
so many amazing benefits of losing a
hundred pounds right might add 10 20
years to your life kind of benefits but
cosmetically it can kind of stink
dealing with some loose skin so I have
four strategies for you today that are
research proven that will help improve
loose skin you know whether you're a guy
who is in the hundred pound Club or
you're on your way and you're dealing
with this I think you're gonna really
enjoy the tips in this video so the
first thing is when we have loose skin
we need to understand that there's this
skin is an organ right and it's
stretched it's kind of like a balloon
start small
we stretch it out and so when we lose
the fat we have that excess stretch so
one good strategy is to fill the space
with something that's not fat and one
great thing is to start building some
muscle so if you've gotten to the end of
your fit father weight-loss journey if
you lost 100 plus pounds right and now
you want to you know focus on getting
really loose skin instead of saying oh
my god I need to get surgery or
something dramatic like that start
focusing on building some muscle because
if we improve the muscle size in tone
that's gonna fill out that space between
you know where the skin top layer is in
the elasticity in there it's gonna fill
your look out and make you look a lot
more full and a lot more taut so muscle
building is a key key thing so that's
why we include programs like old school
muscle right so after you go through the
fit father program series you might want
to shift gears and focus more on muster
buildings you can round out some of
these areas but for a lot of guys muscle
building is not always the answer right
because we often have loose skin around
our belly in our abdominal area it's not
like we're gonna just build huge turtle
shell abs to fill that out right it
might help with the arms and the pecs to
build some muscle so what else do can we
possibly do that's in our control well
the next thing is understanding that
as we age the amount of elastic proteins
in collagen in our skin decreases so our
skin loses elasticity so when you if you
take like a baby for example fresh born
human you know very new young cells and
you stretch their skin it has like a
nice recoil and kind of bounce back they
have a lot of elastic collagen young
kids have a lot of elastic college and
that's why they seem like they can never
get hurt and they heal so fast as we get
older we decrease the amount of elastic
collagen we have so this can impact
the skin's elasticity and make us have
this kind of loose skin effect so
anything we can do to one reduce damage
to our skin meaning smoking number one
way to age your skin number two a lot of
UV sunlight without sunscreen number
three
chlorine from pools that dries out your
skin these things damage the elasticity
so if you have loose skin make sure
you're doing getting rid of all this
other stuff here that can potentially
damage your skin so your skin can
actually focus on healing and repairing
and then we also want to increase
collagen production naturally and the
best way to do that especially the age
in collagen elastin protein production
is going down is actually supplement
with some collagen so there are
somethings out there like beef gelatin
that actually has collagen in it and
when you take that it gives your body
the building blocks to improve some of
these elastic proteins and I'm certainly
not saying that you're gonna take a
bottle of beef collagen and all your
loose skin is gonna go away but I will
say that it will help in terms of at
least giving your body the amount of
collagen and elastic proteins to improve
the skin elasticity if you couple that
with some muscle building efforts and
the next tip I'm going to cover you
could see some actual benefit the third
thing is it's a good idea if you have
loose skin to continue losing a little
more fat even if you think you've lost
all the fact oftentimes and I see this
with lots of guys there's still some
more subcutaneous fat that can be lost
so until you get to a point where we can
actually measure your body fat and
you're somewhere around twelve percent
or so ten to twelve percent that's the
only time where I'd say hey you still
have loose skin at ten to twelve percent
body fat
now we can look into some of these
surgical options right but until you get
there if you're still sitting somewhere
around six
in 1718 percent body fat let's keep on
getting a leaner up to this 10 to 12
percent which is very quite lean because
then we really know how much of your
look is actually a byproduct of the
subcutaneous fat that's still there
underneath those skin folds or actual
loose skin that has not retracted
because we lost some of the elastin
proteins and we lost weight really fast
so that is an important consideration
you know I'm not saying that you're not
there right now but if you know that you
still have a little bit more fat to lose
it could be something to really focus on
while you're building the muscle and
taking something like the beef gelatin
now the next thing step four of this
five-step plan is not to jump straight
to surgery we'll save that for Step five
there are some actual non-invasive
non-surgical options that can improve
your skin tone some of these are fractal
lasers as well as fractional lasers I
should say as well as some
radiofrequency therapies you can discuss
with your doctor will link those below
ask some options and there are some guys
that are seeing a lot of great results
with improving loose skin by using some
of these non-invasive options I do not
know if your insurance will cover them
largely they are expensive I don't know
on the top of my head how much these
things cost it largely varies based on
doctor's office in your area but it
could be something to research because
the last thing I want you to do is you
know go under the knife right away
without exploring these first four
options and the final thing of course is
some surgery right where they can
actually remove some of the skin folds
take some of this excess skin and sew
you back up and these surgeries are very
safe and they can be totally
life-changing so if me personally if
I've exhausted those top four options
and I maybe even tried some of those
Fraxel lasers and some of the
radiofrequency stuff I've gotten down to
the right body fat I've built some
muscle and I still I'm dealing with this
and I don't like how it looks then I
would personally go and look at the
surgical route and talk to someone in
your local area and here's the
interesting thing
loo Skin surgery can be covered by
insurance because it is a problem if you
have lots of loose skin it can be an
infected it can cause rashes and lots of
problems so a lot of insurance companies
cover loose skin surgeries particularly
for the abdomen so if you find that
that's where you have most of the loose
skin it could be covered by your
insurance you can definitely call them
and look into that
as an option but there's a lot of things
we can do in our control and above all I
think the overall message is saying you
did an amazing job even getting here I
mean producing the loose skin you
probably saved your life in the process
right so pat yourself on the back for
getting to the point where you actually
lost the weight and you built the
healthy habits and now let's work on
improving where you are from here and
there's certainly a whole slew of
options then you can explore and I hope
this gave you some ideas this is
something that a lot of guys deal with
and we're happy to help at least point
you in the right direction so definitely
check with your doctor on some of these
laser or radiofrequency therapies you
can check with your insurance if you are
considering surgery they can actually
cover that and definitely do continue to
get leaner and build the muscle and
continue on with all of our future
programs and take some of the beef
gelatin the stuff can help with the
collagen production and that's where I
would start with this five-step plan so
I hope you found at least one or two
useful nuggets in here and I'm proud of
