face a common issue of losing weight
post pregnancy
a lot of women have their eyeballs on
this video and wanting guidance from you
motherhood is a beautiful phase no doubt
absolutely deny that but definitely
there is a hitch when it comes to
completely losing your structure and
having a tough time getting back to your
normal shape or you know just the basic
physical attributes what is your
suggestion as to watch the women should
do pregnancy is a natural phenomenon
don't think that after delivery you will
be should be putting on weight it's not
a at all right look at animals do think
that after delivery every dog or a cat
they put on weight not at all it's not a
natural thing to put on weight we put on
weight because of certain other reasons
but during pregnancy it's not during
pregnancy to you will be no because
after weight has to child has to be
weighing particular according to the
month so then we get started now after
lose the weight
yes though what happens the uterus
becomes big so by the time it comes to
its normal size it takes 6 months it is
not a balloon that things will come out
and balloon will shrink again it this
live body so it takes its own time to
come back to its normal self but within
six months person should be fit and fine
as it was before pregnancy or at the
time of ready that should be the case in
body now this is this could be achieved
not so difficult when person is little
alert aware you are following certain
traditions in India this is the bigger
problem because as old our countries our
traditions are so so old in olden times
what woman would be doing what type of
work they will be doing accordingly the
diet regiment was given to them during
pregnancy after delivery what they
should be eating
all those things were
full of fat full of nutrients at that
time all such things like calcium tablet
and iron tablets were not there it was
very much a normal natural food but all
that they could die just because they
were physically so active so much of
weight carrying on head and walking
miles together and grinding and all this
physical activity and so that type of a
diet was given but now everywhere I find
in all the families they continue with
the same diet regime that a Nuremberg
grandmother used to give this this this
dude he and all those stuffs I am not
naming it it would be big topic but the
point is I am enforced on the girl who
has delivered that you have to eat this
you have to do that otherwise you will
be suffering and you will not get milk
and all that stuff so the girl is very
much overpowered by the relatives and so
on but now we have to change our entire
approach to diet has to change and we
have to follow the same systematic
pattern eating four times in a day we
have to see that in the morning
breakfast should have all the nutrients
properly natural nutrients which you get
from few things which I give a list only
that in the morning you must have almond
you must have poppy seeds cos cos you
must have copra that is coconut grated
grated coconut you must have Herrick
kajoor that group you must have gone
that gum which has a very strong effect
in digestive system to string which is
called eating gum gum gon which they
little bit roast it and make a powder
and keep it in the bottle so all these
things would give perfect nutrition to
your body and then after food you must
have
something to chew like pill like soft
Murray alley and roasted and twist and
again coconut little coconut because
that really helps enhancing milk
production of milk just chew it subha
and I join dill dill seeds and I join
all this and Sergio saying is after they
don't have to delivery all these things
should be taken after food so that you
are chewing it well you can take once in
a while on leave for pan and put all
these things and chew but this much is
enough you need 1 TSP of ghee in your
body but boiled butter ghee and 1
tablespoon of oil in your body
always and so after pregnancy also
always we unfortunately don't follow
this and eat all the other things which
is creating problem because the stomach
muscles have become loose whatever you
eat body stores fat there itself the
whole trunk area needs attention as
expanded it is expanded no and so it
needs attention so proper exercises also
have to be done in if you are eating
more it is going to be stored because
you have no time to run around and do
physical activities there are ladies who
go to gym after 2 months or so but it
definitely affects the milk it makes
everything so rajasic so that calm and
composed mind balanced mind is lost when
you do such activities so a mother is
supposed to be calm caring loving
compassionate child gets up 3 4 times in
an at night you have to get up and
attend to it your hormones have totally
change in your body and it comes it
takes time to come back to normalcy
all this has happening you are not
getting sleep so body is under different
type of atmosphere and then if you are
eating more body is going to
if you are eating wrong food body is
going to store the food so putting on
weight would be so easy after delivery
so here we have to be very very strict
right from the third day or fourth day
person should start doing some asanas if
you had a natural delivery if you had a
natural delivery if it's a cesarean then
after one month once the stitches are
healed and all that then after one month
you do but then lying down stretching
exercises joining legs joining in pad
mass and lifting leg up and down lifting
both legs up and down
you spent five minutes before eating
your food four times she is eating four
times she's attending to her body that
would really help her and body would
come back to shape very easily stretch
your body do yeste Casson everything in
bed and another exercise which he should
do regularly is walking in the room
itself before eating food she should tie
her stomach with something so that her
she feels support her baby is out
support is gone so her back starts
bathing but you tie yourself and then
get up and start walking that's exercise
by itself is beautiful then remove that

delivery because you're so overwhelmed
with the responsibility and that you
know the changes with the baby coming in
they say we have absolutely no time to
even be I always believe this is a very
wrong angle of looking at life what do
we know time you are spending 15 20
minutes on your food take out two
minutes before you eat your food and do
something that gives you the bigger
benefit absolutely that it's a question
of mindset you should know that if you
won't take care of yourself at this time
it would be a quite a tough time later
on in heavy body running around it would
be more difficult to take care of baby
so we can shed but immediately after
delivery within six eight months within
a year person can work hard and shed the
weight later on also it would be
possible if a formula is applied I
always tell people that fixed time to
eat food see that you are hungry when
you are eating otherwise don't eat this
follows even after delivery but here you
have to still eat at a time because you
will not feel that hungry since we will
not you don't sleep well so body's
normal responses art work and sleep well
at night three things if people do it
regularly they would the weight would go
we have cases where the weights go down
in one one month they're 5 to 6 kg goes
away and you very easily can shed excess
weight and surgery also is a huge factor
what the women eat while they're
pregnant because most often they say I'm
eating for two and they eat so much more
and they eat just anything I remember
when I did the pregnancy
at the Institute we were told whatever
you put at your mouth when you before
you open your mouth think is this really
nutritious for the baby and that I think
really helped me when I am a parent it
helped me a lot so you have to eat a
very easily digestible food something
which is non spicy and something which
is bland you can't eat more this food
and eating double is out of question you
should eat only that much to satiate
your hunger and not eating more it's not
like that
so all these myths have to be corrected
people have to learn certain things
that's why we have written even a book
on pregnancy and see to it that you
attend to yourself no act goes waste let
me tell you you have to do something and
you will see the result Yoga is a very
systematic path it's a science science
means you do this and it's going to give
you this result proven facts and Yoga is
that so I'm sure you can shed weight
whenever you want but do it earlier the
better only during after delivery attend
to yourself yeah I am so happy that the
Institute has a beautiful pregnancy camp
which I attended both you know during
both my pregnancies and I benefited
immensely to all the pregnant women
there are books and there is a book in
the Institute that you can avail off a
few don't live in Bombay or you know
you're away but definitely that helped
me and I would hope that a lot of you
