How to Play The First Noel on Piano

Sharing buttons:

hi this is Lindsay from Mahalo comm and

today we will be teaching you how to

play the First Noel on piano so this is

going to be in a new position

it's called middle C position so we find

middle C by finding the white note in

front of the two black notes right in

the middle of the piano and then your

thumbs are actually going to share

middle C and then move out from there

so only one finger will actually play it

at a time but they're both going to rest

there on the middle seat the challenge

with this song is not that the left hand

is playing chords while the right hand

is playing a melody but that they share

a melody and that we're going to be

using black keys which are called sharps

and flats the key that we're going to be

using is this one here it's f sharp c d

e f and then this black one here is f

sharp so when we get there to play

finger number four we will always play

the black key we'll never play this key

here or it won't sound like the song so

we're going to start with finger number

two in the left hand two one two three

here it comes here's the 4 4 5 4 3 2 3 4

5 4 3 2 3 4 5 2 1 2 then you're gonna

repeat 2 3 4 3 2 1 2 3 4 5 4 3 2 3 4 5

three two three four five two one two so

repeat that a few times that's half of

the song and it repeats twice so also

note that I keep my finger on the sharp

don't ever move it down here to the

white key keep it on the sharp so that

you're ready to play it at any time for

the next part it's two three four three

two one two five four three three two

five four three two three four five four

five and there you have the entire song

let's play them together with the words

the Angels did say was to certain

field where they repeat just the second

verse same melody whoops keep going if

you mess up lay keeping their sheep on a

cold winter's night that was so deep is

the king

and you can also add at the end if you

like for Rio and Israel you can add

these two notes so you're gonna play one

two with the left hand and four five

with the right hand

so it's yes and just practice doing

several times so that when you get there

your left hand knows exactly where to go

so the last line and it helps also that

the end it helps to slow down for effect

and also to get both of your hands at

the same time thank you for watching if
