¡Bienvenidos a Spanish Gurus!
Hi everyone, my name is Maider
Hola a todos, mi nombre es Maider
y tengo sed
I am thirsty - Tengo sed
And that is why I was thinking that we could learn how to order drinks in Spanish
Also, because If you are in any Spanish speaking country
you will probably want to enjoy the traditional environment of the place
by going into the bars for a couple of drinks...or more
So in today’s lesson, we are going to learn how to order drinks in Spanish
Vamos a aprender cómo pedir bebidas en español
Ok, here we have
on one hand, the possible questions that the waitress may ask you
on the other hand, the possible ways to you can reply in
And finally, the most important thing, the name of different types of drinks
Let’s start with what the waitress may ask you ¿De acuerdo?
Vamos a empezar con las preguntas que puede hacer el camarero
He could say…
¿Qué va a tomar? o ¿Qué van a tomar?
Two different forms because it depends: If you are alone or you are with other people
So the first one is the singular form and the second one is the plural form
¿Qué va a tomar? (singular) o ¿Qué van a tomar? (plural)
Otra posibilidad: ¿Qué le sirvo? o ¿Qué les sirvo?
¿Qué le sirvo? / ¿Qué les sirvo?
O ¿Qué desea? o ¿Qué desean?
And all of them are for "What would you like to drink?"
¿De acuerdo?
Muy bien
El cliente, the customer, that is YOU, you could answer
Para mí…por favor
Para mí un café, por favor For me a coffee, please
Yo quiero… por favor
Por ejemplo: Yo quiero un café por favor
I want a coffee, please
Well, maybe you think that this is rude because It sounds pretty direct
but It’s not, It’s completely normal, Okay?
So just remember to add POR FAVOR at the end
And If you want to know If they have an specific drink, you could ask:
¿Tienen…?
Por ejemplo: ¿Tienen té verde?
Do you have green te?
¿Tienen…?
¿Si?
Muy bien
And now let’s go with the names of the drinks
