Need up to 30 seconds to load.
hey guys today I'm going to walk you
through step by step how to get a free
breast pump from your insurance if
you're new to my channel I'm a mama of
two little ones I've done this twice I
got two wonderful free breast pumps for
my insurance one for each of my babies
and I want to show you exactly how to do
it and how to get a great breast pump
sent right to your door completely for
free so first you're just going to find
a breast pump vendor that takes
insurance I recommend the breastfeeding
Shop I actually reached out to them and
they have agreed to sponsor this
educational video so thank you so much
to the breastfeeding shop okay so here I
am on their website you can go right up
here qualify through insurance now and
I'm just going to press that button it
asks where do you live I'm gonna say in
the United States it's going to ask me
what state I'm in
I live in Missouri and then you're gonna
select your health insurance
it says check all products and services
that you're interested I'd go ahead and
select all that way it'll check and see
if your insurance covers anything some
of the things besides a breast pump
would be milk bags compression bands
pregnancy support
items
accessories and lactation support so I
would go ahead and just check it all and
then it'll check your insurance and tell
you what you qualify for okay what comes
up here are all the different options of
breast pumps that I can get covered by
my insurance so you see some absolutely
great Brands here this Amita Maya Joy
I've tried and it's great you can use it
cordless and you can just hook it onto
your belt I have also tried this lancino
this is the lancino 2.0 this is the one
I actually mainly use as my work pump I
know a lot of people really love the
Spectra pumps we see several different
options on there the zomi I have heard
great things about now we also have
somewhere terrible pumps look we have
the willow go and we have the willow 3.0
we also have the LV stride on here and
the original LV and then there's also
the free me which is a wearable pump it
just has tubes which is kind of like the
LV stride up here I am a big fan of
wearable pumps I have several but I want
to give you this advice your health
insurance company is only going to cover
one pump and I would recommend you not
having a wearable pump as your only pump
because some women don't get as much
milk from their wearable pumps so if
you're pumping all day just on a
wearable pump you could see a decrease
in your milk supply I do have wearable
pumps I love wearable pumps my body
responds pretty fine to wearable pumps I
get around the same amount of milk but I
just want to give you that warning so
pour your insurance pump you may want to
stick to one of these more traditional
like the Spectra or the lancino
but if this is say your second baby or
you have a traditional pump then maybe
somebody gifted you or something then I
think it's awesome to use your insurance
benefit and go ahead and use that
insurance benefit on the wearable pumps
depending on your insurance you may see
a fee next to some of the pumps and that
just means it's a very expensive pump so
your insurance is only going to cover
part of it and this is still super great
that your insurance is covering part of
it and this is cool because if you're
someone who was maybe really wanting say
the willow but you didn't want to have
to pay the 500 out of pockets and you
already had a traditional pump then you
can use your insurance benefits and just
pay the difference and with the
difference you can use your HSA or your
FSA or just a credit card once you can
see all the different pumps that are
offered to you you can click on the pump
to read a little a bit about them maybe
watch some reviews you can always watch
some of my reviews if it's a pump I've
tried and decide which one is for you
something also to keep in mind when
you're picking a pump a lot of times
your insurance will also cover
replacement parts on the pump that you
purchased with your insurance so I know
about every three months or so I can
order replacement parts and my insurance
will completely cover it but of course
that's only the parts of the pump that I
got from my insurance so some of my
other pumps like my wearable pumps I
have to buy replacement parts myself so
when you're choosing the prompt that you
want your insurance to cover keep in
mind that's the pump that your insurance
will probably provide the replacement
parts for so make sure your insurance
pump maybe is the one that you plan on
using the most since you're gonna get
potentially free replacement parts okay
I'm gonna go ahead and and pick a pump
just to show you and let's say I pick
this one
now it's telling me that my insurance
will also cover a postpartum recovery
garments and a pregnancy support band
and pregnancy compression sucks so since
my insurance covers it I'm going to go
ahead and order it put my size in
and go to checkout
so as you can see my pump and these
other items are all completely free and
they'll be sent to my door now some
insurances won't cover it until you're
in your third trimester but you can
usually go ahead and order it and the
company will just wait to send it and to
charge your insurance until you're far
enough along now it's asking me has the
baby been born yet I'm just gonna go
ahead and say yes
and then it indicates What accessories I
need I'm going to check all now it's
asking me which pump I need the
accessories for you're going to need to
pick up the land size I'll link
something in the description Box about
this phalange size but basically you
measure your nipple not your areola when
you're finding a phalange size so go
ahead and pick your phalange size select
the bags because your insurance seems to
be covering some breast milk bags
through this company you can even have a
lactation consultant reach out to you
for a free visit I recommend taking
advantage of this benefits it's free
from your insurance and a lactation
consultant can be so helpful when it
comes to even breast pumps they can help
you with sizing they can help you with
settings lactation Consultants are
usually very very knowledgeable about
breast pumps not just breastfeeding and
then all you have to do is enter your
insurance and your shipping information
okay that's it for this video I hope
this was helpful to you mamas I know
everything can be a little dancing when
you're a first time mom or just
remembering how you did it all the
second time getting a free breast pump
is a wonderful thing that most
insurances provide and a good breast
pump can be so crucial to your
breastfeeding journey I know it has
helped me a lot be able to go to work
three days a week to have the
independence to go on date nights to
also build up a freezer stash so I feel
comfortable being away from baby also to
get up my Supply with my Supply tanks if
you have any questions about anything I
love to answer questions in my comments
section I also have a breastfeeding and
pumping Facebook group that I will link
in the description box I would love to
stay in contact and we can chat in there
if you're new to my channel I would love
