How to Use a Nail Gun - Video Tutorial

Sharing buttons:

okay so I just want to give you a quick

rundown of our experience with the nail

we got a nail gun to put up we're

putting up planks of wood in our master

bedroom and I was intimidated by this

and Leila is extremely intimidated by

the sound of this and so we got the

instructions and for me at least anyway

oh they were kind of hard to read and

somewhat vague so I'm going to go over

how we figured it out so anyone gets a

nail gun or if anybody else is

intimidated by one and this is how we

figured it out so this is how it works

and I'm not an expert so if I'm doing

something wrong let me know okay first

things first you plug it into the wall

okay I'm reflecting the hip plug it in

and on ours we have a Dewalt there is a

there's a switch in the back it turns it

on now we first turn it on the motor

fires up it scared me to death I'm gonna

do it real quick you know arrows about

to [ __ ] all over the place but it didn't

what happens is when you turn it when

you turn it on the motor pops on and on

pressure starts building there's a gauge

here and the pressure starts building

and building the building and it gets to

a certain point the motor cuts off and

it's completely quiet so the motor

doesn't stay on all the time so at that

point there's pressures air pressure in

this tank but there's no air pressure

coming out of here and this is where

your hose is going to go and by the way

this we bought a kit so the hose and the

tank and we have a nail gun and how it

actually came with a brad gun also which

is cool and even gave me a set of

goggles which I forgot to use last time

so at this point we've turned it on

there's pressure in the tank so there's

pressure built up in here but there's no

pressure coming out of here yet so it

shows you there's a gauge here from zero

so basically when I plug the hose in

here there's not going to be any air

shooting through it and this is how you

do it you pull this down this guy goes

in there and you can pull you can see

it's in there so it's so far we have air

pressure the tank no air pressure going

to the hose to get the air pressure in

hoes have they have a dialer you slow

the turn the dial up as you turn the

dial up you can see that the gauge for

the regulator which is regulating how

much air is coming through your charge

finally going up higher and higher and

this thing will fill it with air you can

feel tighten up and if you don't have it

plugged in they say this thing whip

around like this so what I did is I plug

this guy in with no pressure and I plug

this thing in the same way you can see

if you look closely that you pull that

back and that's how this thing goes when

you pull the bag put it on there

actually let me get a better grip on it

pull it back stick it on there and there

you go so now this guy is on here so no

it's just you know no airs coming

through the hose it and then we turn the

regulator up and this gauge will start

going up higher and higher it will start

coming through this thing it'll start

tightening up and they say you don't

want to go over like 120 and I don't

even come close to that I put it in

between like 75 at 100 because it scares

me a little bit and I'm not about to sit

and nail to a brick wall so for what

we're doing it's good enough so at that

point we have air the tank we have air

in the hose that we've regulated here

and so we're able to shoot a nail okay

this thing comes like with a lock on it

I think it will not shoot a nail by

itself and right now it's not even

turned on in order to make a nail come

out there's a head right here that has

to get pushed back so if we were to go

over to a wall as soon as that thing

pushes in like that boom then you can

find a nail but as long as it's out like

that can't so once you're done you turn

this regulator dial back down to zero

this pressure gauge will slowly come

down to zero and then all the air will

be out of the hose so you can take it

off you know without any air coming out

and then at that point you can turn it

off in the back and the only thing left

and I learned this from the hard way

it's on iers there's a release valve

right here and this is how you drain the

existing air and the tank okay this is

something you're going to want to do

because the first time I did it I just

holders leftover in here

okay that was mild compared to what

happened the first time the first time I

did it this thing was built up with all

this pressure and I just turned it over

and I mean air shot everything across

the room blows in across room thought it

was exploded in my face the second time

we use it I just you slowly turn it and

it just kind of starts slowly seeping

hair out until until this pressure gauge

here works its way back downs as you

know so it's been a wild ride but that's

that's our experience

ah this is what this is how we figured

it out and it seems to work and so far

we love it because the woods going up

fast as lightning which is good for me

because it's saving the hours of work I

feel like I'm given a school that's in

here and I don't even know what I'm

talking about

this is what we got from reading the

instructions if somebody out there knows

something that I don't know that I'm

doing something wrong let me know but it

would have been nice to watch a video

like this before I started because I was

about to pull my hair out with the point

of this he the instructions were a

little vague it was like pull back the

lucky clip to the you know fortunate I

don't know what a walking clip or a

force that is you know
