it takes a lot to steal these kits
sunshine but when storm clouds roll in
they often trigger fear and get a
thunderstorm cuz they go like this hmm
it goes crash past glass
as parents we can take some steps to
help our children feel more secure kids
like to be prepared you know they don't
like surprises as much as we think they
do
and so having you know if this storm
sirens go off what are you gonna do in
your home where are you gonna go arm
them with flashlights in case the power
goes out I wrote down the whole way
and then it come back to that with my
mom you tell them that there's a
thunderstorm out there severe storms can
even make moms and dads nervous but keep
in mind our reactions set examples if
they sense from you that it's not a
scary situation and that you're
confident that it'll be okay then
they'll be okay too one of the most
important things is to make sure that
those parents try not let their stress
show through TV news coverage plays into
that stress possible tornado ominous
clouds but heavy rainfall you could kind
of turn on the television for a second
to look and be informed but then turn it
off because kids really feed into that
media there's a better way to keep kids
informed like reading together from
books on overcoming fear to the science
of storms there are lots of great
options
Aya's rain so important rain is
important for growth for vegetables for
the food we eat for the flowers that we
sniff those kind of putting that into
perspective can help a little snuggling
usually doesn't hurt either
I so scary we have heat
while waiting for the storm to pass and
it does and I'm happy for the wire I'm
