today we are talking all
things mining now we have a lot of info
to cover
and no time to wait so let's head inside
and let's
get to it seven days to die is a
survival
crafting game the crafting side of seven
days to die
is huge there are so many items that you
can make
in this game but in order to craft those
items
you are going to need resources and
lots of resources so today we are going
to discuss the
what where and how to gather those
resources let's start with the
what what do you use to gather these
resources
resource harvesting can be broken down
into three
tool types you have shovels for things
like clay sand or snowballs
you have the pickaxe for ores and rock
and you have the axe for wood
like with most gear in seven days to die
these tools also have a three-tiered
system
kind of they actually have a fourth tier
which we will go
into in just a second but generally
speaking you have your primitive tier
you have your iron tier and the top tier
is the
steel tier as with most things in the
game
these mining tools are governed by perks
they are the construction perks which
are located in the strength
attribute however resource tools
actually have
two separate perks that improve their
usefulness
first you have minor 69er
this perk increases the block damage
that your tool will
actually do at tier 1 minor 69er also
unlocks the ability to craft
iron tools get miner 69er up to level 4
and you will be able to craft
quality 5 tools and if you max this bad
boy out to level 5
you will increase regular damage by 50
percent but
more importantly you will increase block
damage by a 150 percent
in order to get level 5 of miner 69er
you are going to need strength
number seven the second perk associated
with mining and resource harvesting
is mother lode this perk increases the
amount of resources that you
are able to harvest in order to get this
bad boy up to level 5 you are going to
need
strength level 7 but once you do
you will be harvesting 100
more resources that's right folks double
the resources once this is up to level
5. now let's take a closer look at the
actual tools themselves
as with all items in the game these
tools have a list of stats
which show their effectiveness the
primary stat that you want to be
concerned with
is the block damage stat this will
determine
how quickly you can actually harvest
resources
you also want to keep an eye on the
stamina cost and the attacks per minute
but again the primary stat that you want
to look at is the block damage
as you increase the tier of mining tools
you will notice that your block damage
is significantly higher for instance
going from a stone shovel
to an iron shovel gives you plus 11
block damage so instead of 57 you are
doing
68 that means you're able to break down
a block
much much faster and likewise as we go
from the iron shovel
to the steel shovel you will notice a
huge
difference this steel shovel does 101
block damage
as opposed to the iron shovel which only
does 68
so using a steel shovel allows you to
break down a block
much much faster and the same holds
true with each of the mining tool types
generally speaking the iron pickaxe is
better than the stone axe
and the steel pickaxe is better than the
iron pickaxe
same holds true with the regular axe the
iron fire axe is better than the stone
axe and the steel axe is better than the
iron fire axe
mining tools are unique in one major way
however
they actually have a fourth tier this
tier
is of course the auger and the chainsaw
these are motorized tools that require
gasoline in order to use
however they chew through blocks at an
incredible
rate the auger is used for digging as
well as breaking down
ore nodes and stone and of course the
chainsaw is used to cut down
trees both the auger and the chainsaw
are very very fast at collecting
resources
however i will caution you they do call
in screamers using an auger or a
chainsaw for an extended period of time
in the same area
increases the heat map for that chunk
get that heat up high enough and you are
going to call
in screamers so when you're out and
about using your auger and your chainsaw
keep your eyes and ears open for those
screamers
next let's discuss the mods that are
available for these tools
this first group of mods is going to
contain the primary mods that you are
going to want to use for these tools
starting with the gravedigger mod this
gives you 15 percent more damage against
dirt next up we have the iron breaker
mod that gives you 15
more damage against iron the bunker
buster mod which gives you 15 percent
more damage against stone
and the wood splitter mod this gives you
15 percent more damage against
wood this next group will pretty much
just increase your block damage
or increase the durability of your tool
the first mod
is the weighted head mod pretty much all
it does is give you
extra block damage next we have the
tempered blade mod
this mod will increase your block damage
by 10
and lower degradation by 15 however this
mod cannot be used
in either the auger or the chainsaw as
well as the steel and iron pickaxe
next up we have the serrated blade mod
this gives you a 10 chance to cause a
bleeding wound on
a regular attack not very useful on your
mining tools aside from the extra block
damage that you will get by
using this mod i would recommend using
this mod only if you have nothing else
available
and the last mod in this group is the
diamond blade
tip mod this will lower your weapon
degradation by
40 percent and the last two mods we want
to discuss
are motor tools specific that means they
can only go
in the auger and the chainsaw this is
the
motor tool small and motor tool large
tank mods these mods will increase the
amount of gasoline that your motor tools
will hold the small tank mod increases
that by 50
and the large tank mod increases that by
100
mining also has a special book series
the art of
mining this book series offers many
unique benefits which make mining
even better like adding a small chance
to mine rare gems from ore
you'll have a chance to receive silver
nuggets gold nuggets
or even raw diamonds while you are
mining for ore
you gain the ability to craft the
diamond tip blade mod
you can learn how to craft lanterns and
mining helmets
and if you complete the series and
obtain all seven books
you will have a twenty percent chance to
one shot
any ore that is absolutely
amazing especially if you are mining
with an auger
that bad boy already mines at an
incredible
rate now add on top of that a 20
chance to one shot an ore that is
incredible you'll be gaining resources
super fast i think it is time to get out
in the field and actually start
harvesting some of these resources
so let's take a little trip and i will
show you where to get
each of the individual resources and
what to look for
the first resource is wood and it is
literally
everywhere i mean look at this look at
all that wood
all you got to do come up to a tree with
your axe
boom chop it down you start getting
yourself some wood
or later in the game pull out your
chainsaw
and cut through those trees like a hot
knife through butter
next up is clay clay can be found again
almost anywhere so just pull out your
shovel
do a little bit of digging and you're
gonna be getting yourself a whole bunch
of clay
later in the game once you find yourself
an auger
bust out that bad boy and you'll be
gaining clay
at a super fast rate the next resource
on our list
is stone stone is another very common
resource that you can find
practically everywhere all you have to
do is dig
down a few blocks and there is stone
everywhere you can also get stone from
these small boulders that are dotted
across the landscape
you will find these bad boys in
literally every single
biome smack these bad boys with your
pickaxe
or break them down with your auger and
you will be able to get yourself
a whole bunch of stone you can also get
stone from these
large boulders that are dotted around
the landscape now in previous alphas the
small boulders yielded more stone than
the large boulders
however in alpha 19 believe it or not
the large boulders will actually get you
more stone than the small boulders so if
you come across
one of these bad boys while you're out
and about this is a very good place to
get some stone
indeed the next resource we want to talk
about is
iron iron can be found in every single
biome all you need to do is locate one
of these bad boys this is an iron node
so if we go ahead and start to break
this bad boy down
but once you break the node down you can
actually continue to mine this vein of
iron will go
down quite a ways and you will find
these iron nodes
dotted all over the countryside it
doesn't matter what biome you are
in you will come across iron nodes the
next resource
on our list is coal coal is also found
in every biome all you want to do is
look for
this little node here this is a
coal node so as we harvest
we are getting a good amount of coal and
like the other ore nodes
this vein continues as you dig down the
next resource
is nitrate powder nitrate powder can be
found again
in every single biome and you're going
to be looking out for these
little white crystal-like structures
this is a nitrate node so we'll go ahead
and
harvest this bad boy get it going and
like all of the other ores
this vein will continue below the
surface
the next resource on our list is lead
lead can also be found in every biome
and what you're looking for is this
little square shaped shiny rock here
this
is a lead node so harvesting this bad
boy will get you some lead
and like the other nodes this vein of
lead will continue as you dig
down the next resource on our list is
crushed
sand the best place to get crushed sand
is to come to the desert
because it is literally everywhere
all you have to do is pull out your
shovel start digging
and every single block that you break
will give you
some sand another good source of sand is
gravel you will find these type of
gravel roads
all over the place and if you pull out
your shovel and dig up the gravel road
you'll notice you are getting a good
amount of sand
as well as a good amount of stone
alternatively you can also
crush stone into sand to do this you
will need a cement
mixer and a whole lot of stone the ratio
of stone
to sand unfortunately is one two one
so one stone will get you one sand but
that is another way that you can get
sand the next resource on our list is
oil
shale oil shield can only be found
in the desert and what you're looking
for are these rainbow colored
nodes right here they are very unique
looking
indeed and are very easy to identify
but break down these nodes and you will
get
oil shale and like all of the other
resources
these nodes these veins will continue
underground the last resource we want to
talk about
is snowballs snowballs can only be found
in the winter biome however they are
very easy to gather
just break out your shovel do some
digging
and you will be getting yourself a whole
bunch of snowballs
seven days to die has a spectacular
crafting system
but those craftable items do require a
whole lot of resources
but hopefully this video has helped you
