Now let's come back to our topic.

So the first and foremost thing to need to take care of is cleanliness

Try to keep their cage as clean as possible to protect your birds against diseases.

Clean their water dishes once or twice in a day and provide them fresh water.

Secondly you need to choose right type of wood shavings as nesting material

Remember one thing while choosing wood shavings...that wood shavings should not be too fine, otherwise it'll harm your female budgie.

Thirdly, you must ensure that your budgies are getting proper temperature needed to keep eggs or chicks alive

In cold areas, it has seen that without proper temperature, often budgie chicks die when the

female leaves her nestbox for preening, eating, etc.

So you need to make sure to maintain the minimum required temperature.

And you'll be able to maintain adequate temperature when you know what should be the minimum required temperature.

So let me tell you that the temperature should be within 18-22° C inside the nestbox to keep eggs and chicks alive.

In winter season, you can turn on room heater for them

And in summer, you can turn on cooler to keep their place cool or you may switch from nestbox to *matki*

Guys humidity also plays an important role to keep fertile eggs in good condition.

So try to prevent dry air and maintain humidity as well to ensure proper growth of chicks inside eggs

One more thing you need to take care to is to take infertile eggs out of nestbox.

Taking out infertile eggs from nestbox will ease some pressure of Female Budgie.

Also, when chicks come out of egg, make sure to take those remaining egg shells out of nesting area.

Lastly, you need to make sure that bedding of nesting material should be in between 1.5 to 2.5 cm.

If bedding is more than 2.5 cm, there's a chance that the extra bedding might hamper growth of chick inside eggs.
