gadgets obs tutorial video
in this video i'm going to show you how
to add spotify to obs so that you can
display what song you're playing in the
middle of the stream or maybe if you're
recording your desktop things like that
now the steps i do in this video will
work not only
in obs studio but if you use streamlabs
obs
they have the same menus everything like
that so you can follow these same steps
even in streamlabs obs and this tutorial
will not require any third-party apps
we'll be using just the spotify desktop
application
all right so let's go ahead and get
started the first thing you need to do
is just open up spotify so go ahead and
get it installed and log into your
account and then open it up
from there we can go back to obs and
under the sources we need to go ahead
and add one so select the plus mark
in the menu that pops up go to window
capture
and go ahead and create that you can
name it something then once you're in
here go under window select the drop
down and make sure you have spotify
selected
now the title here will change if you're
playing a song
so you should see spotify show up in the
little preview
now just select okay and now we've added
spotify
and you can kind of move it around now
what we need to do is crop out
the actual window so that it just shows
the song title and the artist down here
and it's very easy to do that
all you need to do is hold down alt on
your keyboard
and then go to the top of the window up
here
drag it down and then
continue to hold down alt on your
keyboard and go down to the right
and simply crop it out like that now you
can change it however you need to
but you should be good to go you can let
go of the all button on your keyboard
and then you can
resize it drag and drop it make it
bigger smaller
things like that from there we can move
it around to wherever we need it
or want it to be in our stream maybe
have a nice overlay where it fits
very nicely and when you're playing
spotify in obs so if i go ahead and
start the song
it'll come through the desktop audio in
the audio mixer so you want to make sure
you don't have that muted and if i
change the song
it'll be reflected right here in the
window capture of spotify that we just
added to obs
all right so that's how you add the song
name from spotify
to your obs setup if you have any
