How To: Make 1 (M1)

Sharing buttons:

hi welcome back to burn at home today

I'm going to show you how to make one

it's a basic increase that's commonly

written as M 1 today I'm using burn at

Super Value as my yarn and instead of 5

millimeter knitting needles I'm going to

need to work with this bar that runs

between the two stitches so what I want

to do is take my right needle place it

underneath that bar and pull up and then

place it onto my left needle just like

that that's the first step let me show

it to you again so you take your right

needle place it underneath so you pick

that bar up and then you want to go

ahead and place it onto your left needle

now what I want you to do is I want you

to knit this stitch through the back

loop so I want to insert my needle

through the back loop so if I turn it

you can see right there then I've gone

through the back of that loop and I want

to wrap my yarn around just like I would

for a regular knit stitch pull up my

loop and drop that one off my left and

there's your make one so you've actually

increased one stitch right there so let

me just knit into this next stitch and

I'll show it to you all over again so

remember I want to work with this bar

that runs between the two stitches I

want to pick up that bar put it on to my

left needle want to go through the back

of the loop it's important that you go

through the back of the loop because if

you don't you'll get a hole and you

don't want to have a hole there to wrap

around pull up your loop and drop off

there and there's your next make one

right there and that's all there was to

it

I hope to see you again at brunette calm
