learning how to install the Divi theme
chances are you're new to elegant themes
new to Divi you might even be new to
WordPress don't worry though it's a
really simple process and we're gonna
guide you through it check it out
hello everyone in this video I'll be
showing you how to download and install
your Divi theme if you have installed a
wordpress theme before this process will
be familiar to you if it is your first
time though you will find the process to
be simple and straightforward first you
must download Divi from our website now
with your membership two elegant themes
you will always have access to the most
updated version of the Divi theme and
once you download a copy of Divi you can
use the wordpress dashboard to simply
upload the Divi theme to your site with
a few clicks let's go ahead and get
started first thing you want to do is go
to elegant themes come and login you'll
find the login button at the top
now bar up here once you're logged in
you'll go you'll be redirected to the
members area and you want to find your
way to the Downloads tab once you're in
the Downloads tab you'll notice that
there are multiple things you can
download we want to find the Divi theme
here and simply click download that will
send a copy of the Divi theme in a zip
file to your downloads folder to be used
or we need to locate that later on when
we upload it to our WordPress install so
now that we have the Divi theme
downloaded let's go ahead and go and
login to our WordPress site this is a
fresh install of WordPress and I need to
go to my appearance themes from the
WordPress dashboard once I go to my
themes page here you'll notice that the
wordpress has a number of themes already
installed for us to use if we want we
are going to actually add a new theme
now so what we're going to do is we have
two buttons here we can click add new up
here or we can click the the
big box over here add new theme I'm
gonna do that once we click on there
you'll see that we have the ability to
install a bunch of themes that WordPress
has for us already here but we are going
to actually upload a theme an external
theme by clicking the upload theme
button at the top left here alright so
that brings up a file upload field here
where we can simply choose a file and we
what we want to do now is go find that
Divi zip file that we downloaded so we
can either choose the file here by
clicking choose file going to our
downloads folder here and finding the
zip file Divi zip file make sure you
keep it in that format it needs to be in
a zip file for the upload to work
properly and then we're going to edit
once it's in there go ahead and click
install now it says installing theme and
now theme is installed successfully the
next thing you're going to do is click
activate and now you have Divi installed
and activated on your website we can go
ahead and take a look at it and it's
there it is now if you ever wanted to
delete this theme for whatever reason
one helpful tip is that you are going to
need to disable the theme or actually I
should say activate another theme before
you can actually delete the theme that
is active so in other words if you want
to delete this version our install of
Divi you can't do it here because it's
active you want to go ahead and activate
another theme first and then click on
this and then you'll see the delete
button down at the bottom right alright
well there you have it that is how you
download and install Divi to your
WordPress site
