lithography used to be the way that most

commercially made prints were produce

stones that lithographs were made from

and the technique we're mostly taken

over by artists stone lithographs now

doesn't mean they're made on stone means

they're made from stone I have one here

this is a small stone sometimes these

are very very heavy you need a forklift

to lift them up but this is a piece of

limestone

it's from a quarry in Bavaria you can

see the roughness of the stone in the
