CLAY: My shirt says "Number 2"..
which just means "poop."
JESSIE: Ahh.
What's up y'all! Welcome back to STEEZY's YouTube channel,
It's your girl, Jessie.
CLAY: And your boy, Clay.
JESSIE: And your baby, Miso!
CLAY: And you already know the drill,
this video is brought to you by: STEEZY.CO,

We KNOW that you need help with what to wear for dance
because..
you told us!
AUGHH!
You're sitting there wondering,
"What brands are they wearing??"
"What website did they even get that from??"
and "Why is this simple hoodie with a logo on it like 300 bucks?!"
"Help me! I'm poor–!!"
CLAY: Okay! But it's OKAY, d- good news is
you don't have to worry about all that!
Unless you're dancing in a music video or a show, it's okay!
Skip the flashy stuff,
and just aim for GOOD DANCE CLOTHES-
that are- comfortable,
represent your style,
and most importantly, complement your movements.
JESSIE: And GREAT news is, you just need these six key items in your GDC wardrobe,
most of which you probably already have!
1: A Big Shirt
2: Big Pants
3: A Small Shirt
4: Small Pants
5: A Jacket or Hoodie
and 6: A Hat
We're not including shoes in this video,
but you can find our top picks in THIS video.
We're gonna take these six basic items,
and combine them into 10 different looks.
And we'll explain what outfits we would wear for different types of dance.
CLAY: Let's–
FREAKIN'- GET IT!
JESSIE: Outfit #1 - Big Shirt and Big Pants
This one's easy and the most simple
and probably the most versatile.
The oversized top is kinda flow-y
so it adds a lot of movement on TOP of your movements.
So my favorite types of dance to see in this,
is anything that is sort of lazy and effortless,
but still has a lot of RANGE,
so you can see all the flowiness.
CLAY: Outfit #2 - Big Shirt, Big Pants, and add a Hat
This is basically the same as Outfit #1,
but make it SPICY..
You know how we like to say hats add 10 points of swag?
Well check it out.
Look at Sabrina and Nick!
Oh my GOSH..
Just DRIPPIN'!
[Jessie & Clay laugh]
Hats are also great because they give your hands something to play with,
and also, highlight your focus,
so it really emphasizes WHERE you're looking.
JESSIE: Outfit #3: A Big Shirt, Big Pants, a Hat, and now a Jacket or a Hoodie!
If the last outfits were about chill swag,
think of this one as hard-hitting BADASS swag.
And for a different variation,
if you wanna try that one-arm out thing,
you do you!
Some people hate it-
I mean- Nick hated it,
but we made him do it anyway,
and, look how cool he looks!
CLAY: Outfit #4 - Big Shirt, Small Pants
We feel that the big shirt really helps accentuate the flow-y and feels-y vibes..
and wearing shorts shows people your legs and extensions.
JESSIE: And this is actually EXACTLY what I wear to sleep,
so, this outfit feels really intimate to me,
which is perfect for those feels-y, late-night type of movements.
Outfit #5: A Small Shirt and Big Pants
I like wearing this outfit for any movements where my lower half is the focus.
So anything with hips or legs or steps.
CLAY: Outfit #6 - Small Shirt, Big Pants, but with a Jacket or Hoodie
You'll notice that a lot of dancers like poppers wear outfits like this.
This is because looser-fitting clothes really accentuate powerful moves like pops.
So wear this outfit when you want to strike a pose or hit hard!
JESSIE: Outfit #7 - A Small Shirt, Big Pants, and a Hat
It's showtime!
Wear this outfit when you want to feel like a backup dancer for your FAVORITE artist!
Clean lines are the most important thing here.
CLAY: Outfit #8 - A Hoodie and Small Pants
JESSIE: Okay, if this outfit was a person,
they would be going on a 7-Eleven run at 2 AM,
to get Hot Cheeto FRIES,
and a Gatorade,
while BLASTING club music in their car
and just having their OWN party!
Outfit #9 - A Small Shirt and Small Pants
CLAY: If you're wearing this outfit, you're probably dancing to Pink Sweats or Dvsn.
You're getting on that smooth, sensual vibe,
but you're also showing a little bit of your body-
but not too much!
Don't get crazy..!
JESSIE: Outfit #10 - A Small Shirt, Small Pants, and a Jacket or a Hoodie
and if you want, a Hat!
Now, functionally, I know this outfit doesn't make a lot of sense.
Your top says "Vancouver"
and your bottom says "Costa Rica."
But that's kind of the point of this outfit!
It's more of a costume!
It's showy and makes a statement–
I mean look at Sabrina looking like a sexy watermelon
that doesn't know what the weather's like!
CLAY: Wow, that's a lot of DOOTD's that you create with just six things!
JESSIE: "DOOTD's?"
CLAY: Yeah, you know, "Dance Outfit Of The Day."
JESSIE: Stupid Jessie..
CLAY: Duh..
But you can create even MORE possibilities by throwing on a few accessories,
like hats, sunglasses, or chains!
JESSIE: But the only way that ANY of this is going to work,
is if you actually LIKE each of these six items!
One of my dance and fashion inspirations is Rie Hata.
I asked her what her secret is to looking SO stylish all the time.
Her advice was to "Have favorite things."
She says that she has her favorite shirts,
favorite hats, her favorite NAIL POLISH color–
her favorite of ANYthing.
EVERY time she puts these things on,
they make her feel happy and confident!
It's such simple advice- to have favorites,
but being conscious of how you feel about certain items and looks
is EXACTLY how people develop their own taste and style.
Like I love these big-ass boots!
CLAY: Actually, these are my favorite shoes too!
I made them, custom!
JESSIE: Nice!!
CLAY: Also my mom gave me these socks-
JESSIE: Aww.. CLAY: It has chicks on here,
and magnets on here.. [laughs]
[both laugh]
So, whether you thrifted all of your clothes,
got a hand-me-down from your brother,
or dropped $200 on a T-shirt,
you better make like Marie Kondo,
hold them close to you, and ask yourself,
"Does it spark joy?"
Thanks so much for watching,
we hope this helps you put together an outfit that brings out the BEST dancer in you!
[barks]
JESSIE: Okay so Miso just told us that he wants you guys to give this video a paws up,
and HIT that subscribe button!
CLAY: And don't forget to ding that notification bell!
BOTH: See you next week!
