leave it Dr Daria here board certified
in practicing emergency room doctor
that's actually a blood blister and it's
a fluid pocket that's a collection of
blood and body fluid now quick aside if
you have a lot of blisters especially if
they're in your mouth or on your mucous
membranes you do want to see your doctor
for that but if you just have one of
these it's probably a blood blister and
it's due to just minor trauma or
friction that cause the skin layers to
separate and fluid accumulate between
them now as to whether you should pop it
or not as long as that Dome is intact
underneath that is a sterile environment
meaning there's no bacteria or germs the
minute you try to pop it you potentially
introduce bacteria and germs which
increase your chance of infection
scarring and delayed wound healing so
just put some non-stick gauze on top of
it leave it alone so it doesn't bother
you and let your body do its own healing
