Relieve Mouth Blisters Naturally
Rinse With Salt Water
Mix 1 tsp of salt in a glass of warm water and rinse your mouth for 30 seconds. Salt water helps reduce inflammation and pain associated with mouth blisters.
Apply Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties that help speed up the healing process. Apply a small amount of aloe vera gel directly on the blister. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and rinse your mouth with water.
Use a Tea Bag
Steep a tea bag in hot water for a few minutes and let it cool down. Place the tea bag on the blister and hold it for 5-10 minutes. Tea contains tannic acid which helps reduce pain and inflammation.
Avoid Spicy and Acidic Foods
Spicy and acidic foods can irritate mouth blisters and make them worse. Avoid eating foods such as citrus fruits, tomatoes, vinegar, and hot peppers until the blister is healed.
Keep Your Mouth Moist
Dryness can worsen mouth blisters and delay the healing process. Drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol and tobacco products which can cause dehydration.
Take Over-The Counter Pain Relief
If the blister is causing you pain, take an over-the-counter pain reliever such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Follow the recommended dosage and do not exceed the stated number of tablets.
Consult Your Doctor
If the blister does not heal within two weeks or becomes infected, consult your doctor. They may prescribe antiviral medication or recommend a specialist consultation.
