I'm going to show you the difference
between installing a 10 si Albarn ater
63 amp alternator and a CS 135
alternator and I'm going to show you how
to install the the two different plugs
that you'll need for the Excite wire and
these are these are called
2 or 3 wire connection so the first
thing you want to do is locate the
connector that goes in the back and it's
got a couple Spade connectors in there
and these just simply plug into the back
and then there's a sense wire that
connects to the back of the alternator
here and this this wire again is known
as the Excite wire and this takes 12
volts into the alternator and this
little lump here is actually a diode so
it's a one-way electrical check check
valve if you will that allows the
voltage only to go into the alternator
and it does not allow the voltage to
come out the problem is if you didn't
have this in this wire and you're
running an old-style key switch many
times the alternator will keep the coil
hot and you won't be able to turn the
older the car off so you connect it like
this with a sense wire and then this is
the output wire and the output wire goes
in the same place is the sense wire goes
right here like so this wire is and make
sure you always use the proper size
output wire this happens to be a 10
gauge and with a very heavy jacket if
you use too light of wire you'll have a
chance of burning it up and this wire
goes directly to the battery to the plus
side of the battery not a negative
ground system this one comes with some
connectors so you can cut it and route
it through the ammeter and then over to
the battery so there's a couple
different places you can connect
this is the battery you can either go to
the plus side of the battery directly or
you can connect it to the start solenoid
anyplace that's got a direct connection
to the positive side of the battery the
alternator housing has to be well
grounded all the way back to the
negative side of the battery so if
you're when you're installing it on a
bracket make sure that the bracket
doesn't have grease and paint on it that
might preclude having a good connection
it never hurts to actually run a ground
wire off of the case itself to the to
the frame or to the to the engine block
yeah this is that this is the 10 s I
this one happens to have a narrow 3/8
inch pulley now we'll move to the to the
CS 1:30 this pole is a wide 5/8 inch for
a 5/8 inch belt the CS 130 is a little
bit different built it's a later style
alternator you'll see that it's it's the
profile is not as deep as the as the 10
SI the bearing surface does not stick
out the very surface on the tennis ID
does stick out so when you're mounting
this like on a flat ant Ford if you're
gonna run multi carburetors this is
always a better choice because of the
profile so on on the the 10 si it has it
also has a plug in the back of the oven
where the with the Excite wire plugs in
the Excite wire still has the same diode
one-way check valve allows the voltage
to go into the alternator the difference
here is it does not have the sense wire
so the sense wire itself is internal to
the alternator so again this this
connects either to the plus side of the
coil or you can fish it up to the
firewall and put it to the ignition
switch any 12-volt switched power and
the back of the alternator
has the same output which goes here and
this goes over to the plus side of the
battery thanks for watching and I'm Jay
