and in this video i want to show you how
to cancel a bid on an ebay auction
otherwise known as retracting a bid on
an ebay auction
let's go ahead and get right into it
this is an auction
that i participated in right now just
for the purpose of this example
this graphics card i put a current bid
of 101
currently the highest bidder let's say i
accidentally put in
10 000 and i didn't mean to and i need
to retract that bid
otherwise i'll go broke let's see if
you're looking on here you can't really
find
a way to retract a bid so
what i would have done if i didn't know
what to do is i would have went over
here which was to
my ebay bids and offers and this shows
where your
bidded items are but even if you look in
here
there's no way to cancel your bid it's
kind of confusing
and the only way i've found to actually
cancel a little bit is on desktop
and it's at this page right here which
if you type in on google
retract a bit on ebay and then you click
this first one right here attracting a
bid
that will pull up this page for you
otherwise i don't know how to find it
organically on ebay looks like you got
to go here

or you can just google it like i just
did and here is the item right here
if you know how to do this on uh the app
on a mobile app please put it in the
comment section below and i'll
pin that comment to the top of the video
to help everyone else out but
i could not find a way to do it myself
and this is important there needs to be
more than 12
hours left on the auction in order for
you to be able to cancel it
and then you have to have one of these
reasons i entered the wrong amount
the description of the item changed
significantly after i placed my bid
so that means if the buyer listed
something and like
completely changed the listing to
something else and
they did that after you placed a bid
that's a good reason to retract it
you're unable to contact the seller by
email or phone or another reason i'm not
sure exactly what else you could put
here but
make sure it's a legit reason for the
purpose of this video i'm gonna do i
entered the wrong amount
and i might not be able to do this
because i actually been on this item
like
10 times in a row because someone kept
bidding me up
instantly so let's see if it'll let me
do this
everything looks okay retract my bid
okay it's not secure that's interesting
let's see
every bid you've placed on item blah
blah blah has been cancelled and your
explanation has been recorded so that's
really cool
i feel bad for the seller because
there's like 10 to 15 bids on this item
but it's definitely gonna go for over
what i bid it on it's like worth a
thousand dollars plus
so that is how you cancel or retract a
bid
very important make sure there's 12
hours
or more remaining on the auction
otherwise ebay is not going to let you
cancel or retract your bid
you if you desperately need to you can
reach out to the seller and pray that
they will work with you
or call ebay and try to work with them
but i have not heard of someone being
able to cancel it
with under 12 hours but it's worth a try
if it was a very
very big mistake and
