hey there this is sandra jutton with the
shots team at minnesota health insurance
network
today we're going to talk about how to
purchase health insurance for
individuals and families in the state of
minnesota
so you may not know this but there's a
couple different ways to apply
there is through mnsure and then there's
also what's called off exchange
off exchange just means that you're
enrolling with the insurance carrier
directly
whereas mnsure is referenced as on
exchange that means you're applying
through mnsure for the potential to
see a discount off of your monthly
premium they call it an advanced premium
tax credit
so depending on your household size and
your income
you may qualify to get that monthly
discount
off of your premium all year round so as
you'll see in this income table here
depending on how many people are in the
family and
what income bracket you're falling into
play you can qualify for that help
it's always really important to talk to
a broker to see should i enroll through
mnsure
should i enroll off exchange what are
the benefits there
as well as helping you narrow down which
plan and carrier you're going to cover
all your doctors your facilities
prescriptions
