hi this is Brad with Copper Creek cuts a
lawn care and landscaping company in
Northeast Florida going to be installing
a landscape lighting kit on one of my
clients homes this video is going to
look at the tools that we need to
complete that installation so we'll go
ahead and take a look at some of them
first starting with the digging tool we
have our trusty shovel this is the
extent of the digging equipment that you
have to have it's probably the worst
choice to use but it's probably
something that most homeowners already
own if you're interested in spending 20
or 25 bucks whatever it costs at Lowe's
to make some parts of the job a little
easier then you'll want to look at this
trenching Spade this is a 4 inch
trenching space it does the same thing
as your regular shovel but takes less
energy makes a smaller trench or a
smaller hole so that you're using less
energy now if you really want to step up
the digging game and really save your
time and trust me save a ton of energy
then you're gonna want one of these now
this is the Wilton thin line trenching
Spade and I'm sure Dan the fellow who
makes these can jump on the comments and
let me know if I'm wrong but from my
understanding Dan has been digging lines
for his secular career for something
like 30 years so he actually invented
this because he wanted a better way to
do his job this is the 6-inch version
which a lot of people ask for for
landscaping wires you don't really need
to go much deeper than 6 inches you also
don't want to go shallower than 6 inches
because of the fact that if someone
comes along with an aerator and the
spring those tines on that aerator can
go about 4 inches deep so you want to be
careful about how deep you place that
line and having a dedicated tool like
this that's you know a 6 inches deep
helps a lot in that regard you can see
that there isn't any digging either with
it it's just stabbing it in the ground
we go back and forth a little bit and
then you've made a little trench where
you can lay that line and then when
you're done you just come and stomp on
that area turf the fact is if you value
your time more than money or you don't
want a very difficult or back-breaking
or laborious experience when you're
installing these landscape lighting kits
this is a
that you have to have and I can speak
from experience because I did landscape
lighting at my own house
using this trenching state and it was
back-breaking and it was horrible and it
took hours and if I would have had this
it would have gone much better so that's
the sales pitch on this one Dan he sent
this to me with a little bit of a
discount he didn't give it to me for
free so just as a full disclosure this
didn't cost me the full hundred and
twenty dollars that I think it retails
for but it's definitely worth that so if
you've got any questions about this tool
in particular please leave them down
