hello YouTube curiosity seeker 4:01 here
and today I'm just gonna show you a nice
little simple video on how to prime your
furnace or bleed your furnace for us we
don't know too much fancy talk so it's
pretty simple the only reason why you
would really have to bleed your furnace
is if you ran out of oil and you filled
up your tank and your furnace isn't
turning on so what happened is air got
caught in between you filling up and
you're running out so bleeding is taking
the air out of your furnace so that way
fresh oil can come to the burner and
burn so what you're gonna want to do is
you're gonna want to give yourself a
nice little tray just as a book cleanup
purposes you don't want to spill oil all
over your basement floor you can also
want a cup of some sort to catch the oil
and to make it easy for you to pour the
oil back into the tank usually they're
outside connection or some people might
have it internally but that's very rare
and then the also the other thing that
you're gonna want to remember is you're
gonna want to remember this nipple right
here and you're gonna want to remember
this red button right here now on this
particular
becket burner what I have here is a 10
millimeter open end wrench and this is
what's gonna I'm gonna use to turn this
nipple so after your tank is full you're
gonna come to your burner see this
little nipple you're gonna put your cup
underneath and then using and then using
your wrench you're gonna crack the
nipple just enough until the oil starts
to come out you don't want to open it up
too much because then when the oil
starts to score it out on you you're
gonna have a tough time closing it back
up and then you're gonna have oil
everywhere
thus the tray so after you open your
nipple you can the oil is gonna start
spitting out at you it's not gonna be a
continuous flow it's gonna be spinning
because of the air so at this point
you're gonna want to come over here to
your furnace and you're gonna want to
push this red button after you push this
red button your furnace will kick on and
you'll start to see
the oil spitting out even more now once
the oil is spitting out to a nice
continuous flow and there's no longer
air coming out you're gonna want to
hurry up and close it up nice and tight
but not too tight close it close it and
then you're done now with your excess
oil you're gonna take this and you're
gonna pour it back into your tank using
the spout on the outside of your house
and that's it hopefully this winter if
you guys need to use this tip this
helped you once again priming your
furnace DIY
