hi my name is chip and I'm a paramedic
constructor in North Carolina we're here
today to talk a little bit about how you
can become a certified CPR instructor
CPR stands for cardiopulmonary
resuscitation and the first step is to
become certified as a rescuer and CPR
you can go to any local vendors such as
your EMS agency local YMCA they offer
plenty of public CPR courses once you
take that first step and know how to do
CPR you can contact individuals to find
out how to become an instructor so that
you too can teach other people the basic
steps of CPR American Red Cross is one
agency American Heart Association is
another you can go on the website and
you can search for those particular
entities and find a phone number to call
local to you most of those courses are
very inexpensive and what you'll do is
you'll go through a course and first
you'll be tested on what you know as far
as giving CPR and then you'll be taught
how to deliver CPR instruction using
video based or hands based exercises
you'll be taught about their testing
procedures and things of that nature so
that you can be allowed to go on your
own and teach CPR to others to help
spread that information what's you know
in my opinion everyone should be
certified in CPR regardless of where you
live or what you do for a living if for
any reason just to help your own family
and friends so this is chip and hope
that you'll go out and learn how to be a
CPR instructor
