lot is what is an intermediary
well
here's your webster's moment the oxford
language dictionary defines an
entrepreneur an intermediary as a person
who acts as a link between people in
order to try
and bring about an agreement
or reconsist reconciliation a mediator
so
i'm an intermediary and what that means
is much like a business broker much like
an m a advisor i'm helping to bridge
in this case buyers and sellers now
there are intermediaries in different
fields you'll hear intermediary
described in the legal field but in
business brokerage in in the business
dealings
it can be a business broker it can be an
m a advisor it can even be an investment
banker but somebody in between the buyer
and seller right now
business brokerage sometimes has a
negative connotation some people love it
but you notice that real estate
brokers
changed the way they call themselves to
real estate agents or real estate
consultants there's a similar trend in
the business world to stop using the
term
broker some brokers just have a bad
reputation let's face it especially
business brokers sometimes you hear have
you hired a business broker
and sellers are like ugh
those guys are the worst right so
i'm trying to raise the bar for business
brokers right but also trying to wear
this professional hat
i am wearing this professional hat of
an intermediary
it also
it also kind of spans the the range from
smaller deals traditionally business
brokerage goes for deals under a couple
of million dollars and
and m a they they start looking at two
five million dollar deals up to
have
50 million 100 million and then you get
into mergers and acquisitions um
lower middle market these are all terms
just for different market sizes but
intermediaries interact in all different
market sizes
that's the answer what is an
intermediary it's a deal maker it's
somebody in between two parties for
primarily a buyer and a seller
