in this video I'm going to give you five
things that you can do right now to
become a better dancer hey guys it's
Kenzie welcome back to my Channel today
is my only day off and I'm doing this
video I put on a leotard and tights
just for you guys but of course I asked
you guys in a poll and you guys wanted
this video I know every dancer is
looking for like just some sort of like
simple way to improve so these are gonna
be my personal five things that you can
start doing right away it's become a
better ballet dancer or just any dancer
in general of course if you're not

without further Ado let's get into the
video okay tip number one is to always
always always support your arms from
your back and always to like hold your
arms like hold your arms up like do you
know what I mean I'll explain it a
little bit further now you're probably
like wow that's so random but it's not
because when you engage your arms that
is the support that you get for
everything that you do almost everything
that you do in ballet so this support
from your arms which comes from your
back is super duper important not only
for aesthetic reasons but also because
it helps you balance I want you to try
with me right now a balance right now in
Posse and try to do it with like a
relaxed shoulders relaxed back just try
to do it
and you maybe you can do it but it's a
little wobbly right engage your core but
also engage your back and lift your arms
and engage don't let them just hang out
there and be like all lazy really really
hold them up and now
try that same balance while focusing on
your back and your arms I mean it's
literally
solid it's crazy if I'm ever struggling
with like balance in class or just like
if I'm not on my Center I always try to
come back to that because I know that's
that's where my balance usually comes
from like if I have that stability in my
arms and my upper back usually
everything else goes pretty smoothly and
also I'm going to show you right now a
little combination and one of the
combinations I'm not going to be using
my arms and the other one I am going to
be using my arms and supporting them
from my back and you're gonna see the
difference and you're gonna definitely
be able to tell which one looks better

tip number two is to actually listen to
your teachers and their Corrections in
class and actually
apply it to your dancing I feel like
especially when I was younger I would do
this I would just take class and
not really fully comprehend like what
the teacher was correcting us on and
just kind of not really care but if you
really really really want to become a
better dancer
take these ballet classes as go into it
as I'm gonna be a better dancer every
time I walk out of that class especially
when you're
younger and you really have like a lot
of improvement for improving to do
um
and ask questions like
um be like fully engaged in your classes
and that will just overall make you so
much more aware and
mindful of what your body's doing and
you will just become so much more
knowledgeable about ballet technique and
you'll just be able to turn on the
technique a lot easier sometimes I feel
like we just dance we do the combination
and we're kind of just doing it how we
always do it and we just forget and we
don't really care about what we need to
be working on and then when things don't
really work out for us we get frustrated
but that's the time when we really
okay what do I need to focus on
um
how can I do it so I can make it work
and if you go into a combination with
that mindset it will
probably turn out a lot better than if
you did it so listen to your teachers
guys
and apply those Corrections number three
is also a super easy one that you could
literally just do right now wherever
you're watching this and that is to
watch professional dancers
um especially like super super famous
really beautiful just like near perfect
technique dancers
um I did this when I was a little bit
younger like 16 17.
um and I
can't even tell you how inspiring it was
for me and how much watching them
translated into my dancing and into my
technique and I didn't even really
notice

but once you watch so many of these
beautiful professional ballet dancers
you'll start to get to know what you
need to do to make it look
professional and to make it look mature
um and like the little just like subtle
things like with your a-pama and like
your arms and like the way you run and
like if you're doing a variation instead
of running like this you know there's
just subtle things like a professional
dancer would go like that and like
linger their head like there are just so
many little things
that make the biggest difference
and watching like marianella Nunez or
Svetlana zaharava or anything from like
Dutch national ballet like on YouTube
anything from like Royal Ballet like on
YouTube as well like all of those things
like really inspire me you learn so much
from just watching and it's so easy to
just watch and if you want to like take
notes amazing so the fourth thing that
you can do that will make you a better
dancer is all about your feet as we all
know your feet make a really big
difference in ballet and I think we all
know this but I feel like this one might
be a little bit of like a personal one
but I feel like if someone has a really
good feet it just makes them that much
better of a dancer and I'm I'm not
ashamed to say it I just feel like it's
the truth I don't know if it's because I
see that in myself
um or what but
I feel like if somebody has really good
feet or point shoes that really show off
their feet very well
um and they just take the time to really
just make their feet an important part
of their dancing it just really makes a
really big difference and your feet just
like really finished lines and I just
feel like it's just very important my
tips for you guys is to kind of
incorporate that into your training so I
would recommend doing like
stretching like stretching the tops of
your feet and maybe even your toes but
if you are going to stretch your feet
also strengthen your feet whether that
be with like a theragon or with like
relives I think I have some videos here
that I will
um show you guys or like Link in the
description as well
and you guys can follow along like what
I did to kind of like work on my feet
better if you've been on point for a
while
um and you're not super happy with your
shoes or you don't really think that
your shoes show off the best of your
foot I really recommend that you kind of
take the time to like figure that out
and make it a priority
um maybe you could like three-quarter
your shank or like break your shank a
little bit more or just overall find a
new style that looks more flattering on
your foot yeah so I would say try to
make your feet a little bit more of a
priority and if you can start doing that
every single day and it will make a
really big difference the last and final
and personally the most important thing
that you can do to become a better
dancer is to dance with passion I know
this is a little bit cliche dancing with
passion versus not dancing with any
passion is just like night and day you
could have a girl who has amazing
technique I mean is placed perfectly in
beautifully
um but has no personality on stage or no
passion for it and it's a little bit
boring you know it doesn't really move
you it's just ballet technique right but
what makes a good dancer from a great
dancer is that step of like Artistry and
personality and character so you can
start to do that by just having that
passion for it in class just really
dancing like you love it dance really
big and um maybe even smile I would say
the things to like really think about is
to really just lengthen out of your
limbs
as much as you can lift through your
chest
and your head use a lot of a palm mall
and just make your portable just very
big and with purpose let's say you're
just doing a simple like
I don't know why you would do that but
let's say you're doing that
um and this would be the step right or
you could be like
like
actually saying something like actually
moving through it and doing it with
purpose so you're doing like a
a balance say like you know this is a
perfectly placed like balancing right
but it's not there's no substance to it
or you could really like move through it
and just love what you're doing and it
just
using the upper body using your head
using your arms it is a little bit more
work
but it is so worth it and it is so so
important so I hope you guys took away

like a stepping stone into getting and
reaching towards your goals and your
