I'm Andru swallow the captain of the
North own football club I play in the
midfield I just arrived at haters park
home of the non Football Club where we
start most our mornings I'm looking
forward to getting to work and getting
into it being a ballplayer it takes a
lot of discipline and commitment it's an
extremely tough sport to play if you
don't have a bit of resilience about
yourself you won't cut it at a fair
level so here we are in the locker rooms
where all the secret men's business gets
done this is my locker name on it with
all the paths champions underneath so
Premiership 100 games or groundling
middle our uniform represents a history
of our club everything that's gone
before us so every time we pull it on we
remember those who have been before us
and we always want to make sure that we
make them proud every time we compete in
the field as you can see the game is
definitely change there's a lot less
moustaches asleep though the game has
changed so much over the years with the
increased level of professionalism now
obsoleting define every little event so
they can they'll grab a microscope and
go if every player their preparation
they've taken to again everything that
they're doing in their life to try and
improve that players during pre-season
we probably spend about 30 hours 35
hours a week in the club doing some sort
of
preparation to get our bodies right
through the seasons more about recovery
and making sure we get up week to week
for the games
[Music]
we're just out and a just parking out
just practicing a few handling drills
it's all about repetition trying to get
as many in as we can so we're usually
out on the park between two to three
hours three times a week skills are
vitally important to an AFL player we're
going to make sure that we practice that
when we go on game day we execute
correctly
yeah three from three I don't usually
keep too many gold so I take that any
day like nutrition and diet is a really
important part of being an AFL player
you know we're really strict on what we
eat making sure that we have a lot of
protein for the carbs so entering the
gym now this is where we spend a good
chunk of our week what motivates me is
success to win a Premiership I think
it's the dream of any player so you know
that's the ultimate driver that's why I
get up every morning to go to work the
AFL is a competition I think is amongst
the elite throughout the world it
requires so many skills that we attract
the best talent from around Australia
and therefore as a competition the
standard is really high and really
measures well against those around the
world I would tell anyone in that one of
the piyo fell to really work on the
endurance demand for a player to be as
fit as they can are extreme so be
constantly out there working on their
lip their right foot
Tbk kicking a flow the hard hits that
tackles the amazing goals the
unbelievable scream
that's what I love about it though
