we do have aspirations to stream
eventually
hopefully you guys could drop follow and
give us some support but without further
ado going
into the four three two one now this was
a formation that i really loved last
year
i thought it was a brilliant formation
and uh hopefully this year
it will live up to the hype so going
straight into the instructions i don't
want to spend too much time like on the
goalkeeper in that but sweep keeper is
where it's at
uh it's typically what i always use for
the goalkeeper i think it's definitely
something that can save you every now
and again although from experience
so far playing with it the keeper
doesn't actually seem to really be a
sweep keeper he very rarely comes off
the line
i tend to use and call my goalkeeper out
myself
and i do end up saving myself a few
goals the ai doesn't really seem to do
anything for you now the full backs we
again
have gone for balance on attack and
overlap and especially kamara
was so so good but balanced attack is
really really good in this formation
because the the narrow
front three are as they say they are
narrow so these are kind of your best
source of width in the game they get up
really high at the top end of the pitch
your fullbacks are really really
important in this formation because like
i said they are your best source of
width
you see kamara at the top end of the
pitch there just how high up the pitch
and just the space again because
ribrian and korea are very very narrow
they get really um like i said they get
really close together so it's really
good for link up play play
that you know the ribri caputo correa
the front three they're very good at
linking with each other
it's really important that you do have
width because it's always important to
have a little bit width just as an
option now with that width it does
obviously and having your full backs
forward it does naturally mean that you
are going to leave a little bit space
open for counter attacks
but like i said in my defending tutorial
playing with your full backs on balance
is really only something that you should
do if you are a good defender because
there's going to be a lot of situations
where you are going to be
2v2 at the back it's just going to be
your center backs pretty much up against
two or three attackers
so unless you're a really good sort of
1v1 defender i wouldn't recommend going
with balanced attack because like i said
it does give you
really good options going forward you
see kamara how many goals he's got and
just
how many offensive positions he's got
himself into but there are situations as
you can see in this very last clip
that your fallbacks are exposed and you
are left with with counter attacks and
this is where we were able to use our
keeper really smartly
and bait him out and uh save ourselves
the goal so the fallbacks is something
you've got to be really careful with
you've got to really get them right and
you've got to be really
honest with yourself whether you are a
good defender or not so really difficult
enough defending in this game
but it's really important that you don't
if you're not a very good defender
don't go on balanced attack because
you're just going to make defending
almost impossible for yourself
especially in this formation
i don't want to go to the central
midfielder which we had as illusions now
something that i tried
was i had tried him on get forwards now
i wanted to kind of have him on get
forward because i wanted to try him as
that attacking midfielder
and so he would really push forward and
then golan and vidal as you can see on
the outsides i had on stay back while
attacking
and stay on edge of the box because i
wanted those guys to
stay back and then illustrate to go
forward so he was able to link up
because i think having a cam
is always really important because then
it was just able illiteracy was able to
get forwards
however what i actually found with this
is whilst it was effective
the fact that i had my full backs going
forward i found that especially in the
middle of the pitch
i was really really open you can see a
couple of really good examples here that
really highlight the picture what i'm
trying to
try to highlight but you can see the
striker just drops into that midfield
spot
and not having a cdm or a defensive kind
of minded midfielder
you always left that sort of gap and
then you you know it was just a catalog
of errors after that i have to bring my
center back out because he might pass it
there
then my full back had to come across and
then it just left the winger just free
to then go and score
so having kind of like no defensive
midfielder
really did make it difficult so even
though i was having the benefit of
illusion
getting forward and being that attacking
presence and it was making it much
easier for me to link up to my strikers
it was just i was i was leaking too many
chances
through the middle of the pitch and
that's obviously not a good thing
because like i said
we're already quite attacking with our
full backs and you see another good
example we got away with it earlier in
this clip
but this time again you see that spacer
there's just no midfielder there to pick
it up so i have to bring my center back
out to try and and pick the run
and then we should be able to slot the
ball in behind and then he was able to
put it away
so one thing that i ended up settling on
was uh i ended up taking ilitch off and
moving this
dm back to drop between defenders now
this was a master stroke this
made a massive difference to this
formation i was still had a good amount
of players forwards for
attacking situations but having this guy
i think i was using paredes as my dm
and this made a massive difference then
switching the outside midfielder's name
golan
and vidal to balance midfield so they
were able to kind of
be those to box to box midfielders but
having that dm or that drop between
defender midfielder
made a huge difference and just made
this formation a lot more
solid defensively and i was i was able
to kind of like
really cut the amount of chances that my
opponents were still having they were
still getting some chances
but certainly not as many as they were
before straight away great example just
watch paradise watch how he just drops
five ten yards
and then he how he's able to just track
this runner who earlier was getting
monsters amounts of space paradis is
then able to pick it up on that drop
between defenders instruction now when
it comes to the front three
sort of ribery and uh caputo and korea
we had them all on getting behind
we've managed to have caputo on stay
central because we've already got a
little bit width on the outside with the
two outside forwards
and also the fullbacks who are going to
get getting forward providing width
we don't need we can have that means we
can afford to have these guys all
playing quite narrow
and now we don't have that cam from
illicit she's even more important that
those guys are able to sort of link up
together
and it's really really important those
guys are able to do that because if
those guys are kind of
spread out a lot wider it makes it a lot
more difficult to attack in this
formation you can see a really great
example here from ribery
obviously you know you can see how he's
able to just pick up the spot how he's
just able to find the space
first and foremost we doubt he's able to
is in plenty of space getting forwards
career
and then ruby is just able to spot the
runner and he's just able to swing off
the back of him
and uh corey is able to find a nice low
driven cross to the back post and that's
why it's really important those front
three you can see they're all in the box
really really close together why it's
really important that those guys are
able to link up together because
you've got plenty of width on the
outside those guys need to link up
otherwise it's going to be very very
difficult for you to get
many chances in this game you see caputo
is just able to just able to drift off
the center back
and then just leave space i believe it
was for ribery to then just finish that
one as well
so then moving into the custom tactics
these were the custom tactics that i
actually settled on in the end we went
with pressure on heavy touch
the reason why i went away from using
pressure on possession loss
is because of the fact this formation
doesn't have a dm
and the fact that we were playing with
our full backs on balance and this
formation is
naturally more of an attacking formation
than for example the four triple two we
were using
so pressure on heavy touch was
definitely the way to go you see a
couple of really great examples how we
were just able to press our opponent
into some really big mistakes and how
they led to some really good chances
still had really good numbers at the top
end of the pitch
to kind of utilize and make the most of
that pressure on heavy touch that's
because we were playing on five depth
which is a good amount of depth to play
and like i said
with the width the depth on on the
defensive and the offensive style you
don't really want to change
anywhere from between four and seven is
a really good balance you never want to
go sort of really
high and extreme on any of them and
never really loads something to really
tinker with but
these were the settings and these were
the tactics that i managed to settle on
long ball was really effective works
really well with that narrow front three
and also
kamara and mal kui who our full backs
were just bombing forwards
and the long ball just worked super
effective in this formation so
certain tactics work better for other
formations that's why it's important to
tweak it around
but these are the tactics that i found
worked extremely well for this formation
and definitely one of the top formations
in the game so that is it for the video
