How to backup Whatsapp Chat History From Android To Iphone

01:23So, the first free method failed at this point.

01:26Moving on, I then tried to restore whatsapp backup from android to iPhone using iTunes.

01:31Warning: please do not try this method unless you are wiling to risk the data on your iPhone.

01:37So I backed up my WhatsApp data to the local disk this time,

01:40made sure the backup files could be found in the internal storage.

01:50Then backed up my iPhone to the computer using iTunes,

01:57and then I found the location of the iTunes backup folder.

02:08Once done, I plugged my Android phone in, found the WhatsApp folder.

02:17Then opened the database,

02:18copied and pasted the most recent backup files to the iTunes backup,

02:26changed the file name following the FAQ here.

02:30Then I go ahead and duplicated the files from the WhatsApp backups to the iTunes backup.

02:38After all these are set up, I opened iTunes, connected my iPhone to the computer again.

02:43And then restored the foresaid backup to my iPhone hoping to move the WhatsApp chats to it.

02:49Unfortunately, it didn’t go so well,

02:51instead, the iPhone seemed to get into an endless boot loop,

02:54I ended up restoring it to factory settings.

02:57In this moment, we know the second method not only don’t work, it’s quite destructive,

03:02that’s why I gave you guys a warning at the very beginning.

03:05The reason for this , is WhatsApp adopts an end to end encryption to protect your privacy,

03:11iOS and Android don’t share the same protocol.

03:14So we’ll need to find a way to decrypt the backup on iPhone so that it could assimilate.

04:09It’s now getting the data from the source phone.

04:15Ok, here comes the crucial part,

04:17by verifying the phone number, we are able to decrypt the backup.

04:21So we type in the phone number used to sign in the WhatsApp,

04:24then hit verify.

04:25Make sure to turn off two step verification for WhatsApp,

04:28then hit continue.

04:30WhatsApp will send a verification code to this number,

04:33once received, enter it right here, and then hit verify to confirm.

04:38Once verified, iCareFone will be generating data that can be restored to your iphone.

04:42Then WhatsApp will be signed out from the source device,

04:45what we are doing now is sign in the WhatsApp on the iPhone,

04:57Once done, click on logged in to proceed.

05:02Now the restore process will begin, all your WhatApp data,

05:05including chats, images, video and documents will be moved over to your iPhone.

05:11The time taken hinges on how big the backup is,

05:13and your iPhone will restart.
