today i am going to show you guys how
you can remove bad sectors
from your hard drive to make it usable
again
you guys remember this hard drive from
the last video
i got this hard drive from this laptop
we are going to remove bad sector
from this hard drive to make it usable
again

first we are going to make a bootable
usb which is going to help us
to recover our hard drive
so let's do it let's go to google
and search for hdd
regenerator
you can find hdd grease generator
and click on the first link
click download the download
should start the download is complete
you should open and set up this program
on your computer
after installing this program on your
operating system
you should double click and open it

there you have option to make bootable
usb flash drive
or boot up bootable cd or dvd we are
going to make a bootable usb flash drive
insert your memory card or card reader
into your computer click on bootable
bootable usb flash drive
and select the device and press ok
you should see a warning that says all
the
data on your flash drive will be erased
you should press ok
the bootable regeneration flash has been
successful
okay now a registered prompt
should appear on your desktop
we are going to turn off our computer
manually and we have to
connect this hard drive into
our pc and also remember
to remove any other hard drive or ssd
from our system to keep it simple
now we are going to connect this hard
drive into our
pc
so
okay we are done
so now let's start this computer
i'm going to move the display
so you guys can see it properly
then make sure the usb is plugged in
then start your computer
okay you should select
the usb drive
from the boot menu my asus motherboard
boot menu comes when i press f8
so i'm pressing f8 this hard drive has
so many bad sectors
that it slows down my pc a lot
let's see how much time it takes to turn
on
keep pressing the boot menu button
of your computer
if you have a gigabyte motherboard it
might be
f12 if you have a intel motherboard
it should be f2 and if you have
a asus motherboard like me it should be
f8
to get into the boot menu so we are
going to
boot into our usb drive now the program
is open
you should select the drive which you
want to re-generate
we are going to select the second one
because the first one is the 8 gb
usb drive that we inserted here
and hit enter now you should
see scan repair is scanned but do not
repair
regenerate all sectors in a range even
if it's not bad i'm going to select the
number 1 option so press 1
then enter press enter
the repair should start
and let's see how many bad sectors we
have
in this hard drive after scanning only
10 gb
of this hard drive i got 73 bad sectors
and trust me
it's growing this is going to take
almost 5 hours 11 minutes
at this point after recovering this hard
drive you should move any important
files
from this hard drive because
it will get bad sectors
again and even if you want to use it
regularly don't keep any important files
in this hard drive at this rate it is
going to take more than 7 hours
to recover this hard drive so
