hi this is Marshall right at Decker
Wright corporation in Red Bank New
Jersey and today I'm going to show you
how to backup your outlook PST and
mailbox first you go up to file click on
file go to options advanced and export
now this is very similar to how Outlook
2003 and 2007 works I'm using Outlook
2007 today at this point it's the same
for all those applications we're going
to export to a file click Next we're
going to pick outlook PST file click
Next and at this point you have to pick
what you're going to backup in this case
I'm going to back my whole mailbox up
because I haven't done that in a while
I'm going to click Next where do I want
to put it I'm going to put it in a file
with today's date and a location that I
know where it is so that I can find it
again if I need it and click finish if
you want to add a password to a crypt
and protect yourself or your PST file
you can do that I'm going to ignore that
and click OK and you'll see momentarily
that it will start backing up my files
this is a good thing to do at least once
a month so you have a backup copy of
your outlook and just in case something
bad happens you can recover your files
