How To Ask A Patient To Write A Review

hi Bob summers here I'm the creator of

the five star review system and in this

video I want to show you how to get up

to 80 percent of your patience to

respond your review requests now

obviously I have a very biased opinion

in the five star review system it's

awesome

it makes it really really easy for your

patients to leave you a review on the

internet and testimonials that you can

do tons of things with but I can also

tell you that about 20% of your success

in getting these reviews has to do with

the system the other 80% has to do with

when you ask your patients to write a

review and how you ask now we have

tested this over a year with hundreds of

different businesses and thousands of

different people asking patients to

write a review and this is what we found

is what I'm going to call our best

practices you can use your own words and

phrases but when you follow the

guidelines that I've listed right here

you're gonna find that the number and

the percentage of patients that responds

will skyrocket so what I'd like to do to

start is I just want to demonstrate how

to ask far review and then we'll break

it down and you can see what I've done

so here's what I'm gonna do Kathy can I

ask you a favor please when you get home

later this afternoon or tonight would

you mind taking a couple of minutes to

write a review for us because when you

do it helps other people who are looking

for a dentist learn about our practice

we do that for me thank you

what I'd like to do is send you an email

with links leading to where you can

leave your review and I promise I won't

share your email with anyone may I do

that Thank You Kathy I am really looking

forward to reading your comments that's

it so the two main things I want you to

look at is number one did you feel

pressured in any way shape or form to

write a review and I hope you did not

if a customer shows any trepidation or

they say no I'd rather not do that let

it go you know you don't have to have

every customers would say that they'll

write a review to dominate all of the

review sites with great reviews the

second thing is did you feel like you

are likely to leave a review and again

of course I hope the answer that

question was yes so let's take a look at

what I've done here the first thing you

want to do is you want to ask at the

patient's peak of their happy

if they're coming in for multiple visits

to get a procedure done you want to ask

at the end when it's over and they are

happy all right so now let's get into

the process knowing that's a sign the

first thing you want to do is you want

to use the word favor Kathy may ask you

a favor now I do not know why the word

favor is such a big deal all I know is

this the doctors and the people that ask

for reviews on behalf of the doctors

when they use the word favor many more

people respond I would like to ask you a

favor the next thing I did is I said

today are tomorrow when you get home I

don't want these people to think I'm

gonna ask them to write a review while

they're in the office that can be

intimidating so Kathy may ask you a

favor later today or tomorrow when you

get home would you mind taking here's

the next step a few minutes to write a

review you want to be clear as to how

long this favor is going to take if it's

going to take 45 minutes tell them 45

minutes but people that have written

reviews before it only takes a couple of

minutes the next thing I did and a lot

of people forget this is I want you to

know how the company might practice

benefits from you writing review when

you write a review it helps other people

who are looking for a dentist learn

about our practice all right those are

the first three steps the next thing I

want to do is I want to tell them what

to expect I'd like to send you an email

with a link leading to a site where you

can leave a review and I promise I will

not share your email with anyone now for

some people that is really important

that you convey that and they now know

what to expect so now they're expecting

an email they said it's okay to send it

to them and they know what to do when it

gets there the final thing I've done

which is really the coup de Gras is I

let you know I'm looking for your review

thank you so much I'm really looking

forward to reading your comments so

that's it

that's the process again you can use

your own words in your own phrases you

can do it in whatever order you want but

if you follow these guidelines

statistically we know you're gonna get

many many more people responding to your

review request so let me do it one more

time

I guarantee when you first start asking

it might be a little uncomfortable

because you haven't done this before

from the first time you ask someone to

write a review they are going to light

up it will be a very very pleasant

experience and you're going to get

better at this as time goes on and if

you ask every patient every time and you

follow these guidelines you're gonna

find that in a very short time your

practice is going to be the most

reputable practice in your community no

matter where anyone goes to find a

dentist Google Yelp Yahoo's vidi search

it doesn't matter okay

go out there ask for those reviews and
